Both IIM I and XLRI have almost similar placements and facilities. What XLRI gains on is better faculty and better alumni network. However, the Pan-IIT alumni association and alumni base (as i have been told) is a big help when one switches jobs. Moreover it helps in getting great international job offers(again as i have been told). ANd at the end of the day IIM I does have that tag, and i certainly believe that tag matters being an IITian myslef, i think it was partly to this tag that i got into XLRI.

I also have some apprehensions about XLRI being the best in HR and being not so good in finance or marketing????

Please clarify the above doubts.

Please do not compare I with XL... Its beyond any reasons...

Give me one reason why you are facing the dilemma in choice (apart from the cliche that it is an IIM). And only then can I help you on this topic...
