Hi Rajat, i've been following your posts here for a very long time in pg. I need your advice about something.
i am a dual degree student at IIT Kharagpur in superfinal year.
i had taken CFA L1 this june and have cleared it.
i wanna ask you, how should i approach my job search. some tips as to how i can get into equity/fixed income research in the i banks, here in India and abroad.
I am interested in equity/FI analysis only. Also, is it possible to get an analyst's job in Fund management? with just IIT + CFA L1. Because that is where i ultimately want to go(probably after MBA)
Banks like Lehman and Deutsch will be coming for placements to our campus, however, what does one need to do for Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and the rest?? cause they dont bother to travel all the way down to kgp.
My resume is well rounded. I have decent acads (8.17/10), was G Sec Soc n Cult of IIT Khagarpur and other stuff in extra acads. I also have a PPO from ITC, which i will have to reject in order to sit for placements.
Please help.
