Hi
There is a standard distribution system which I dont think can be termed as bias. you are clearly mentioning NORTH INDIA and marathi manus in your query. to answer that
some facts
1. the distribution of seats goes like this. 70% for people from mumbai university which is home university for mumbai colleges. 15% for people outside mumbai but inside maharashtra. rest 15% are reserved for All india students who are not from maharshtra but wish to take CET/CAT/MAT/ATMA/XAT and apply to colleges coming under DTE process.
2. the distribution has been like this for years and there isnt any bis towards a particular region of india say north/south/east/west.
3. 15% is a huge number and these seats dont have reservation. (SC/ST/OBC etc.) imagine a college with 120 seats. it will have 84 seats reserved for mumbai people but that will have almost 50% reservation so open seats are only around 38-40. No. of all India seats will be 18 without reservation.
4. When I am saying 70% reserved for Mumbai University candidates it means people who have done their 10th 12th and graduation in Mumbai. it doesnt say 70% for marathi people. so a student irrespective of his caste/religion/language/origin is eligible. to add to it go to DTE's website and check last years data of any college. I think by surnames you will be able to gauge the no. of students from various communities that have secured admission and not only marathi people have made it to these B-schools.
I was just stating the fact but forgive me if this response was rude. there
isnt and should not be any debate as to who gets into a bschool as it is related to
Intellect and efforts and not religion/caste/region.
hope this will help everyone. dont have biases guys. give your best in exam. rest everything is secondary.
thanks and regards
