Hi Alll....

I have enrolled for the executive program and would be pursuing MMM (09-12 batch.)
@Ayush... congrats buddy.. regarding the schedule I am not very sure but 1st week of July should be it
@outlaw.... dude even I found difficult to find a thread on Part time MBA... One of the foremost reason for PT not gaining any popularity in these forums is bcos all the PTimers are hell busy with their schedule ..
To answer your queries... Part time MBA wont give u placements so you have to build your carreer on your own and with the network that you would get in your class.. Trust me its just the brand name of the college that I am doing it ...I did some research.. got hold of some seniors on orkut... they assured me that its worth the time u spend... Its only about how much dedicated and willing we are... A senior told me that he changed his Job twice in 18 months for a very good pay(around 175% hike).... and it was due to the MBA degree he got..

Hi Maverick,

Its not late as of now to prepare for the JBIMS part time exam.
Trust me I studied for around a month and a half and that enough.
Though whatever I studied did not help me much though in the exams.
The paper was mostly designed in such a way that even if someone has not prepared then also we could answer it. Practice is required as answering 200 questions in 3 hrs is quite cumbersome. I attempted around 130 Qs and then marked the rest in last 5 mins as no negative marking.
Around 60% constituted for Logical reasoning so prepare it well...sums are straight forward + _ % types.Gud amount of Jumbled words and English questions, comprehension.
So basically prepare all this from a gud classes notes meant for MBA and it would help you a lot.

All d best !!
Kiran

Hi thanks a ton, dear for your quick response.Any idea as to when is this exam held.
Also I want to do my MBA in finance.I am a little confused coz currently am pursuing CFPi.e Certified Financial Planner.I met with an accident hence lost precious 4-5 months time.Havent been able to attempt even the 1st of the 5 module in CFP.Hence am gearing up to clear the first module.
If I plan to give JBIMS a try then I will have to postpone my preparation for CFP.
I guess JMIBS holds its entrance in December. So I have exactly one and half month.
So do u think I should hold my other plans and give JB a try,I have heard that its particularly difficult to get into finance as the competition is tough.
Kindly advise coz I dont want to get into a situation where am neither here nor there.
You really think its possible in one and half months???

Hi,

I have few doubts.

1. Is two years of work ex absolutely necesary? When they says 2 years of work ex ..it's till when...when the college begins or when we give the written exam. I will completing 2 years of work ex in July 2010 so i could miss the date by few days..will that affect my prospects?

2. How is the competition in finance? I have not done any course related to finance and I work for a market research firm.

3. How is the faculty for marketing?

Thanks in advance.

Priya
