I agree. Truer lines were never spoken.
CET needs to undergo major changes in the selection process.

Other exams (CAT/MAT/ATMA/XAT) constitute only 15% seats for OMS (Out of Maharashtra candidates) in CET colleges.Considering the number of seats OMS students aspire for (95 for the top 5 colleges thru CET collectively)....its still a meagre number.
But OMS candidate gets 9 chances to get into top B-Schools under CET
How: 1 CAT + 1 XAT + 1 JMET + 1 ATMA + 1 CET + 4 MATs
Against which a MAH candidate has 1 chance only: CET
So for CET colleges to him, one bad day and wait for a year.

Stress upon the bold words in the link:
MAT, state-level CET and related discussions

The section is not just for MAH-CET, but for ALL state level CETs. That includes TANCET, and the other CETs as well. Not just MAH-CET. Just because it is the most contested CET does not mean it is the only CET.

Of all Bschools, not many that accept CETs/MAT are top grade. Only 5-6 of the MAHCET schools are high grade. Of those only JBIMS can be considered A+ level.

Primarily, all the Bschools at this level accept only CETs, as they're governed by state-level universities. National level tests already have a section of their own, Other Exams.
Yea, clubbing MAT together with State Level CETs is not a good idea, as MAT is a national level test. But then again, these tests do cater to a different stratum of Bschools, don't they? This is different from what MAT caters to.

We can move MAT back to the Other Exams section, and keep this one only for State Level CETs, like MAH-CET & TANCET. But that will defeat the purpose.

Regards,
Grondmaster

(Maybe just using CET/MAT/ATMA is also fine)....adding ATMA then is important....and all ATMA discussions shud come over to this thread

So we have CAT

and then the XAT, SNAP, JMET etc

and then there is (State level CET exams....MAT and ATMA....howzzat?

Grond...I guess the point was already made.....State level CET / MAT ...the logical augmentation required is in the form of ATMA...which is an elder sister to MAT. ...I dun really see why B-schools were required to be graded for the explanation given.....nevertheless...thats an opinion and is counted I guess...

Cheers
