Sakshi ...
You've assumed pretty right, as it is not possible to get IMS with an ATMA percentile of 94 ... (last year's cut off for IMS - 98.67 percentile)
My suggestion - prepare well for MP MET as the number of seats through MET is considerably more than those through ATMA. Further, if you're planning on taking MET then do not underestimate the level of the exam on any grounds. Prepare well and try to secure a decent rank. You'd have a greater chance of getting IMS if you've a rank under 60 in MP MET.
All the Best!!

HI Supriya,
I am Saurabh currently doing mba from LBSIM, New Delhi. My younger sister is aspiring for IMS. So can you let me know the details about the admission criteria (as in what is the percentile required when one appplies through ATMA & MP MET) considering that she is having a domicile of M.P. Also a liitle bit about the format of MP MET.
Also Supriya, your seniors must be placed by now, so what was the placement scenario this time, the highest and avg. CTC.
Thanks & Regards

Hi Saurabh ...
There are two ways to get yourself admitted in IMS... First through MP MET for MP Quota ( this is strictly for candidates with a domicile of MP) ... and Second ...through ATMA for All-India Quota seats (which is for students wanting to apply through ATMA, irrespective of their native places) ...
Now, if your sister is planning on taking MP MET (which i guess would be more appropriate considering the domicile and all) ...she'd have to take the exam around May end ...the results should be out by June and then there'd be the GD PI stage, after which a final result would be declared... Subsequently a counselling would be scheduled for MP MET Candidates, notice of which would be sent to the candidates individually... She'd have to take part in that counselling and if she has secured a rank under say 60...the chances of her getting IMS would be pretty bright...
If she's planning on applying on the basis of her ATMA score then there would be no GD PI stage as ATMA candidates are admitted directly on the basis of the scores. The counselling for ATMA is scheduled seperately usually before MP MET counselling..
Regarding the placements, the complete senior batch has been placed with the avg package of 4.15 lac and the highest of 7.5 lac CTC..
If you've any further queries..am always there to help ...
Regards
S.

Thanks Supriya for the information.
You have mentioned that one has to secure a rank under 60, so how many marks must be set as a minimum target in MP MET for that rank, also what's the total score of the question paper. Some where from the net i came to know that at IMS the classes are for only about 3-4 hrs a day and the faculty is also not so particular about the assignments and all.
So may you let me know about that in brief. Also where are you doing your summer training.
Thanks & Regards

Saurabh ..
When i mentioned that one has to secure a rank under 60, that's just to increase one's chances of getting in. It's just to give a vague idea of the competition and the kind of preparation required.
About MET pattern, no. of questions and the minimum no. of questions to be attempted in order to get through.... I guess all this information would be better provided to you through the information brochure of MET... Exam patterns tend to variate with each year... So instead of providing you with not-so-right info... I'd suggest you go through the brochure once to get a clear picture of it...
Being a government insti. issues like less number of class hours...okayish infra...are bound to come into the scene.. There are many things that many people have to say about any insti. My personal suggestion..visit the insti once if you've any apprehensions about the academics or the quality of faculty or the pool of intellect... It would give a more clear view as to what the insti is all about... In my opinion..the faculty at IMS is very good...even with infrastructure issues and a couple of nicks here and there...the over-all atmosphere is pretty student friendly.. It ultimately depends on the student...how much can he/she can extract from the resources and the faculty available...
At IMS..students learn the hard way..and it pays in the long run...the illustrous alumni base being an example of the same...
Regarding Summer Placements... there is no such facilitation from the insti.... All students have to apply on their own to various companies.. There might be a couple of companies that might visit the campus for Summers...but placements are not assured on their end...
On the same lines... I've applied to a few organizations for summers... and i've positive responses from a couple of them... Honestly, as of now, I dont know where am going to end up for my summers...
Hope this helps...
Regards

Rohit...
Please see the previous posts... They would answer most of your queries...
As far as the domecile thing goes... i guess the rules have changed a bit since last year.. so do your own checks at Vyapam before going ahead with it..
But again... in my opinion...it shouldnt be much of a problem as you've done your 10th and 12th from MP itself... It'd be good for you if you've one...without which you wont be eligible to appear in MP MET... And with the ATMA percentile you've... situations may become a bit edgy ... So try to get the domecile as soon as you can... ( you better work fast on this one...because govt officials have their own way of working and things take time over here... so it'd be good if you start the process immediately) ...
All the Best!! ....
