Student Exchange Programmes at IIMs ... (& Experiences) !!! - 09-05-2004, 03:00 PM

At this stage a crucial decision making factor to choose between the IIMs is definitely the interaction with the universities abroad as well as the student exchange programmes...

As for me - while I am preparing for CAT2k4, I sure wud like to know the student exchange programmes available in different IIMs (for inspirational purposes) and the experiences of those who have been part of it... Especially in the light of very little information for student exchange programmes (SEPs) available on the sites of IIM L/I/K.

Keep this post alive with your experiences and your views on the topic  .

[glow=brown:ee628ad53f]As of now my question is that while alot of info is available abt IIM A/B/C SEPs what is the scenario of IIML[/glow:ee628ad53f] : : :

Chill re bhai. As if the nos. gonna make such a diff when it comes to reputation. bestfren4u, there was a better way of getting ur doubts cleared. You could hv come up with something like "Are you sure abt the figures", instead of trying to act like a "I-know-all" types. Kunal's been on the forum for quite sometime and he must hv some contacts with the other IIMs too. So if you are so damn sure of the 72 students, then be happy. Are you trying to project IIMC > IIMB taking the "exchange programs" as criterion eh ? kunal had mentioned in his post not to compare Insttis using this.

Re: Student Exchange Programmes at IIMs ... (& Experiences) !!! - 26-05-2004, 04:26 PM

as i already said
dont use this info to compare bcoz i am very sure than C can send more students if they want to go. Maybe ppl at C dont wanna go this time

My info was based on what IIM Cal exchange coordinators had told me (i am an exchange program coordinator at IIM B )

Exchange program depends on individual; bcoz u have to spend 1-2 lacs for that; not everyone can afford that; this cud be one reason for C sending less

And yes exchange program at B IS THE BEST !!!!!

u wanna know why?

bcoz exchange program also depends on how many ppl come to YOUR country

and EVERYONE (foreigners) want to come to bangalore to experience the silicon city of india to build contacts and also to see how India is becoming the best in software. Even ppl who come to A and C on exchange come to bangalore to see this.
So dont u feel, more ppl might prefer coming to bangalore

Thats an honest fact.

ABC can all send 60-70 students easily so dont use this info to compare coz its unlikely that u will have more than 70 ppl wanting to go on exchange.

Pretty old thread

Can some of the current students throw some light on the student exchange scenarios in their respective B-schools?
