heloo michel,
i guess u have done ur graduation in engg. what ever, u have made a right decosion by choosing operations as ur specialization. operations is one of the core area where all industries are looking for gaining the competative edge over their competators. it may be manufacturing or services like IT, ITES or BPOs.
as of my knowledge SCM (supply chain management) is the area where opertunities are green and will continiue to be green. other topic like TPM,TQM or lean manufacturing are equely good but for all these things knowledge of SCM is neccessary. many times opearations is treated as SCM. here i mean to say is SCM is the foundation for Ops.
xtra certification that will create a better edge is APICS certifications. it will give clear knowledege of ops and also helps a lot in making ur CV unique.
if u want more info. regarding APICS u can post me a Pvt message or even call me to <snip>.
(to introduce me to u, im a student of operations management in SIOM-symbiosis intitute of operations management. )
