All B-Schools have similar lives, if there is any . There are common enemies - Assignments, Presentations, Deadlines, Case studies and ofcourse Exams (ok ok, IMI has an overdose of this enemy but others are not far behind )

All B-Schools Rock!!

Hi All,

Well the best B-school it's actually a tough question dude as everyone likes his/her own alma mater however this is a good way to know about culture at many institutes. I for one can tell you about IIM Kozhikode, well the name can be changed to IIM Cozy-kode , the campus is scenic to say the least. We have 2 hills with 1 hill for faculty residence and 1 hill where all hostels are there with lib classes etc. The best part is it's surrounded with hills so whenever u go to class or to lib or for any work u have to stop n think am I missing the grandeur around. Do visit the links given by some challenger above n discover yourself. It's definitely a very calm place.

Yours Truly,

Mints

Well coming to fun part of it....
We used to joke that EDI was a "Paid Vacation"

It was if you, consider the midnight holis or the midnight table tennis sessions...
The multimedia projector (in the class) was regularly used to see movies...
The monthly movie picnics...
The students there mastered every game from NFS to Cricket...
And when we even had a gym to our disposal...

Watching movies at any time of the day / night was a routine for everybody...

And yes ofcourse the best "extra-ciricullar activity" was to in class...

After reading that anybody would say "kya life hai yaar"...
There's more but let's see if anybody can that...

really? thts sound a lot of FUN,

actually i m planning to take admission to EDI, i ve tried last year but didnt got time for entrance exam

abt insti, i heard tht insti is quite good with a lot of industry exposure

actually i wanna be an entrepreneur so i dnt care much abt B-school & all tht

does EDI really help to develop entrepreneur attitude?

i m planning to take admission in EDI this year, is it worht it?

But thn even classes can be fun if you get a good faculty.

Regards

well i completed my engg frm a very tough insti

& frm my experience i learn most not through insti but outside of it

in fact if u ask me, i think one can best learn & develop attitude by more interacting with ppl, with friends

faculity & infracture r good but one can work without them if u r in touch with right student

in fact nothing matters much other than fellow members or class mates,

so i wanna be an insti which got not geeks or nerds or sincere but ppl who got attitude, who challenge every known rulez, who dare to make their own rulez, who experiment with their life & all tht ....

i dount IIM-A got such student since i think ppl there ll be too busy with their studies & all tht.... & i doubt they ll break or question authority

so i wanna knw where i can get such ppl, which B-school actually helps to develop attitude & dnt force its own on u ..

Hi,

Like I said in the earlier post, don't worry about the life even if u get thru to one of the top B-Schools.. you ll just have as much fun.. even at IIM A...

Before I got in, even I used to think that this going to be a slogging-all-the-while kinda life... but thats not really true... how you choose to balance it out here is purely your choice.. and that holds for all B_Schools...

The reason people say you get only 3-4 hrs of sleep in a B school is because there is so much to do.. in my case, late night counter strike eats at least one hour of sleep, once you get here you'll find all kinds of people... there will be those who slog like anything, people who get upto 6-7 hours of sleep daily... its just a matter of personal choice...

If you are the kind who wants a little bit of everything out here.. you'll find lots like you.... so just focus on converting the best calls you get and just see the kind of fun you have... you'll never forget these two years of ur life...

Cheers,

Amit

Choice I realize is the individual. MBA is all about value-addition. You walk your own unique path and there are too many ways you can do that.
