Write the GMAT test before you start the application process. Anytime before september 30 will do. Just try to get it out of your mind before you start the application process. In case, you want to apply to US universities, I would suggest that you take the test by July/August.

GRE for ISB - 25-07-2005, 04:04 PM

The ISB admission criteria page lists GMAT/GRE/CAT

I have scheduled my GMAT for Sep 28th. I already have a GRE score from the old pattern (2170/2400) The scores are within the 5 year period which ISB accepts as per the info on the site.

Does early application make any difference? I.e. should I apply with my GRE score itself or wait and try to get the GMAT score too.

Please do let me know, waiting for your replies.

My profile:

B.E. Mech---- Pune University----63.83%
X: 86.57%
XII: 74%

Work Exp:
7 months call center in Mumbai
2 years 4 months Software testing, currently with top MNC

For the current ISB PGites:

How much do the acads weigh out in admit decision?

Thanks
Kaushik

Guys,

For all those who are trying for admissions this year, there is a thread in business week forum. You can go register there and speak to alums and current students. Its a good place to share your concerns and ask questions. The answers and replies will be reliable. There are two threads one by ISB and the other by prospective students. Both of them will be very useful.

Cheers
Kiran.

If any of you could send me the essays/ reco drafts you guys used it would be a great help. Tips and suggestions always welcome
1. I would suggest that you appear for your GMAT and try to use that score. It helps you in making comparisons with the official average score released by the school and also helps if you want to apply abroad. All applications are reviewed only after the deadline of R1. So, it doesn't make a difference whether you apply a day after the application is available or 10mins before the deadline.
2. There is no specific weightage assigned to acads. But, it does play a good role and will be one of the important items on any admissions list. However, I would suggest that you treat everything else in your application package as more important than acads as there is nothing you can do about your acads now.
3. Use Google to get some sample essays. Or use the books that are oft mentioned for helping you with the admission process. I am pretty sure that no one will want to share the essays. And BTW, you are not supposed to see your reco.

- Ramki.

P.S: You are not supposed to post your E-Mail ID on this thread or for that matter on any of the threads. So, please edit your post.

Re: ISB: Admitted! - 23-11-2005, 10:15 AM

hi there.

this is my first post and was just figuring the whole thing out.

my interview for ISB was scheduled on the 21st of Nov. Went badly as i had Jaundice and was babling incoherently.

my gmat score was 700 and i have 3 yrs of work ex in Maruti Udyog as a Manager.

my extra circulars were good. i represented my state in two national tournements and held many leadership positions in college.

the others who came for the interview were far more qualified.

the interviewer too kinda looked uninterested in me...... guess i was just making up the numbers.

and thats that.

anyone else had his interview in Chennai ?

cheers
