Admissions Team | Thanks Admissions@ISB,
Can you please put me in touch with some alumni / students of ISB, maybe of similar profile. I had registered on the ISB website for contact with Alumni / student, but did not hear back.
Many thanks

Mr Menon,
Could you please tell me that for those who have not been shortlisted for the interview, would their application be considered for the next round.
If yes, would they get to know this right now or at the time of Round 2??
Thanks

Hi,
I went through the curriculum provided on the website and was unable to find any course pertaining to Industrial Relations. Does ISB provide courses on labour negotiations and labour laws? Do you teach this subject with a focus on case studies?
Regards,

Hi
My application id is 101874 and i submitted my app in the first cycle. My GMAT scores were recently reported to the ISB - 1st of October to be precise. I requested that the scores be sent to ISB on the 10th of September; which is when I retook the GMAT for the second time. However, since my earlier score was higher (A Score of 680 when I took it for the first time on the 11th of December 2007) and as per policy the higher score is considered, there are some veriations as a result
I had one query in this regard. The first time I took the test and got the 680, the following were my absolute scores and percentiles
Verbal - 34 / 70 percentile
Math - 49 / 89 percentile
AWA - 4.5 / 49 percentile
Overall - 680 / 88 percentile
This score report had an appointment id of 223338135
However when this score was made available to ISB on the 1st of October and since I requested that the scores be reported only on the 10th of September '08; the percentile rankings of my score vary. Note that the foll is how the score is represented this time around
Verbal - 34 / 69 percentile
Math - 49 / 88 percentile
AWA - 4.5 / 42 percentile
Overall - 680 / 86 percentile
And this score report has an appointment id of 226836429 which is the appointment id from the second time I took the test when I requested that my scores be made available to ISB.
The problem now is, since I submitted my application on the 15th of September itself and these scores were reported only on the 1st of October, my application has the appointment id of the test from the 1st time and also the percentiles that were reported then. I wanted to know how ISB approaches this problem and also wanted to clarify my stand on this so that there would be no doubts of malpractice from my end.
Also based on talks I have had with ad com members in recent days, I was told that since my app was submitted on the 15th of Sept itself and only the official score report was pending, I would be considered in the R1 cycle so long as my score reports arrive at ISB by the 1st of Oct. Request you to kindly confirm the same.
Finally my app status still shows as complete except for reciept of GMAT score. Could the admissions team please look into this as my scores were reported on the 1st itself. I mailed the adcom dept in this regard on the 1st of Oct itself but havent heard back from anyone despite following up with them again.

Dear Mr Menon,
I have a querry regarding the diversity factor. It is known that ISB encourages people with diverse background to apply so as to enrich learning from different perspectives.
Does ISB ensure that people with diverse background are represented in list for interviewalone, or does ISB ensure the factor of diversity in it's final admits list also.

How are reapplicants looked at?
We do not look at Reapplicants in a negative manner. Rather we feel that Reapplicants are coming back to us because they are extremely interested in ISB. We have a feedback mechanism wherein applicants who’ve not made it to ISB in a specific year can call us up or email us for feedback on their applications. With respect to Reapplicants we specifically check what the applicant has achieved in over the last time he/she has applied to ISB. We provide Reapplicants with the choice that they can apply to ISB writing all the essays again, or else they can just re-apply with one essay talking about the changes in the candidature since they last applied.
Dear Mr Menon,
Where is this option for a re-applicant provided in the application?

Hello Sir,
Is it possible to inform out station candidates for the interview shortlist beforehand?
I am based out of Bangalore and as there was no option to choose Bangalore as the preferred interview location this year, I have opted for the interview at Hyderabad. With the vacation season coinciding with the Hyderabad interview dates, it will be very helpful if you can publish the results for out-of-station candidates beforehand. | | | | | | | |

Dear Sir,
I have approximately 14 years of experience.
My experience covers both the IT and non-IT industries (over 6 years in each). Due to my switch from Non-IT to IT industry, I am not as senior in the organisation as I would have been if I had not switched. However, I am bridging the gap steadily.
I am currently a Senior Project Manager in large Indian IT company. I have a good academic track record.
Would my lower role effect my application adversely, inspite of my diverse work experience spanning several industries?
I would be grateful for a clarification.
Thanks
