Smile Insead 2009 R2 - 18-05-2008, 02:57 AM

hii,

I am Ravi, profile is GMAT: 710, 6.0
TOEFL: 116
3 yrs exp in the IT industry - 2 yrs in the technical domain, 1 in business development
MBA from SP JAIN.

Aiming for the INSEAD 2009 batch.
I am currently applying in R2 and am calling to all folks who are in the same boat!!!

I have a question:

In the application, they have asked us if they may contact our current employer.
Ideally, i would not like to...coz...I am not sure wht the consequences would be if I do not make it. But i also feel, not allowing INSEAD to contact my employer may turn out to be a negative to my application.

for someone out there, who can ease my fears....or convince me on a point...I bow to you in respect. Awaiting your reply.

Thanks guys!

Ravi.

Hi Ravi,
Dont worry about that. You can go ahead and mention that you don't want INSEAD to contact your current employer.
The Adcom at INSEAD understands that most applicants do not wish to jeoperdize their chances at their job due to an application. Also INSEAD will not anyways be calling up your employer unless there is some glaring mistake. Their judgement criteria does not require the same.
Also, I am sure more than 70-80% applicants would be mentioning it as a NO.
Best of Luck
