Hi puys,
I'm looking forward to an MBA this year and have admits from University of Texas - McCombs School of Business and NUS Business School.
Now, I do understand that McCombs is ahead of NUS in every respect - be it curriculum, world-class faculty, diversity in class or the international exposure. Moreover, with my interest in technology sector after MBA, Texas (or US, in general) certainly has an upper edge over Singapore.
But the only thing which worries me is the cost of the program at McCombs (approximately $100K). I'll be taking a loan for the program so I'm worried that I'll always be under pressure during the course because of this loan. I couldn't find other avenues of financial assistance (no US-based cosigner or scholarship expectations from UT).
I am still concerned about the following issues -
- Time required to repay the loan (NUS will cost me around $45-$50K)
- Career services for international students, especially due to slowdown in economy. (With Singapore and SE Asia tightly coupled with US economy, there may be concerns for students at NUS as well)
Moreover, I do not have any problem working outside India after graduation.
So, overall, the only reason why I'm considering NUS is the low cost factor. Everything else seems to be in McCombs' favor.
I hope you all can guide me through this situation.
Looking forward to your response.
