AIM Manila 2008: GD / PI Call Getters

The thing is the no. of applicants from Sales and Marketing background are very less and that too from different sectors say a Pharma, FMCG and Manufacturing etc..there is no preference as such but the important thing remains the diversity of the class..and yes people with International exposure do have that edge...i know a student at ~ard 22 years of age (from china) doing pretty well and had a great profile which saw her through...but at the same time there was an applicant from Australia(Vice Marshal) had a great GD, but couldn't make it.

Hallo All,

I did get a call as well !

Graduation: B.Com

Work Ex: 4.5 Years of F&A Back-office opns incl. 3 yrs ppl mgmt and 1 year intl exp.

Extra Curricular Activities: Worked for an NGO and assisted in the setting up a school in my village

GMAT Score: 610(Screwed up here) but anyways i think my AIMAT got me thru !

Place : Bangalore

Can anyone suggest of the possibilities and what i may be up against in the GD/PI rounds?

hi all........
Since we all have to appear for the GD & PI sessions in near future, so lets start some meaningful discussion instead of just sharing the profiles (because, the profiles will remain to be the same till the GD/PI round is over, and we can't do much about them at this point in time, so lets start thinking of things which we can improve upon).....
seniors, kindly guide us regarding the same.

Bangalore guys have some 25 days from now............whats the best we can do in this duration?

Extra Curricular Activities: Decent
GMAT Score: 620
CAT 96 percentile

hey puys.........

include me in the list of call getters

B.Tech in Computer Science
Average acads
Decent ECA
and a workes of 30 months in IT as a programmer and systems analyst

i submitted my form around 10th of Jan,
but received a call yesterday itself............
hence i dont think that thr is any funda of ppl getting call on 25th
only if they've submitted form before dec 31st

last year threads indicates that GD and PI process were quite similar
to those of Indian B Schools . Even the PI ques were of the same track

now because thr isn't a big no of applicants,
i suggest dat we should be familiar with our GDmates
as soon the time slot and venue gets decided
I ve mailed them my preference: Mumbai on Sunday Feb 24th

P.S. Mr. Damodar once told me that they gave admit to around 100 candidates last year. Out of which ard 50 took admission

P.P.S. Puys.......we all have a great chance........anybody performing a little better than average will easily sail thru this comfortable selection ratio

thanks a lot dude.....it has loads of information.....
well....I got in touch with 2 people who are current students of AIM......and they have just suggested that we will get case study during the GD round....and it will be one of the actual case studies which they also study during the course........
and the PI is a one-on-one session (this could change this year)....and its somehow dependent on your luck........

I also got to know that GD has slightly more weight when compared to the PI.

well.....I would suggest that you can pick up the old copies of Business-World.....every alternate week they come-up with a case study...and thats really nice way to kick start the preparation.......
pick up some old copies and then also keep reading the upcoming issues......

well thsts abso correct the weightage is more on gd
now guys i don ve too much info ....hows the inst in terms of placement.....the ranking seems very good but placements do not match upto it..........ny info wud b useful
