Hi,

I am also looking for a good counselor in Delhi.
I've visited ********, Princeton Review and ITP. All of them provide, more or less, the same kind of services and charge 35K (excluding taxes) each.

I'm more interested in getting the-right help when it comes to choosing the b-schools rather than getting help in writing the essays. I think I'll be able to manage the essay-part.

It would be really helpful if people can share their experiences (both good and bad).

@elecabhinav - the malviya nagar thing is Genesis.

@elecabhinav - haven't yet decided on the the counselor and the colleges i'll be applying in. in fact, i'm looking for a counselor's help in shortlisting the colleges.

@Doctor_4_Mba - as far as i know, individual counselor will always charge you more. institutes like Princeton Review and ******** tend to charge a more affordable fees.

DO NOT make the mistake of seeking professional help for school selection....The consultants like to play safe and discourage you from applying to top-schools....bear in mind that the top 15-20 schools are always risky and it is extremely difficult to predict your chances of getting in...

I went to a few consultants in Delhi and was told by almost everyone not to even think of top-10 schools....I ended up applying to quite a few of them and am joining NYU Stern this fall...

You can refer to some posts on PG or i think iday's blog for school selection...i strongly advise you not to seek professional help for school selection...

all the guys on this forum - I would tend to agree with Incarnation, that most of the consults try and give you similar feedback..

At my score most of the consults tole me not to apply all together.. but eventually I made IMD & LBS..and would be joining the best - IMD..

I am also based at Delhi - and have been involved in counselling people for the last few years.. so anybody who needs help.. can always write me a PM - I will be more than glad to help you with choosing the schools, writing the essays & also interview preperation...

Rgds,
OK

well, i was thinking in this way (do let me know if it is a stupid idea ) -

- go to counselors and ask them to select schools for me.
- have my own list of schools ready (that definitely includes top-15 ranked schools)
- if there's a match, well and good. otherwise, I'll take their help in applying to the "safe" schools suggested by them and apply to schools, which I like, on my own.

p.s. apart from the school selection thing, i hope taking a counselor's help in reviewing the essays, recommendations, CV etc is good idea !!
