Hey Insead.admit congrats for taking this initiative of starting the thread..

Here is brief gist of my profile ,i will have 3 yrs of IT exp in June and plan to apply Insead for Sep 2008.Pl tell do i stand chance or will have to wait for some more years to touch Insead.Insead is my dream college

GMAT <planned in July but expecting above 700>
Academice Engineer with above average acads

Work Ex -Will be completing 4 yrs of work ex in Infosys by May 2008.Currently leading a team of 5 here for US client[No international exposure so far ].Led many other Knowledge management and other initiative and consulted client fo tech/business solutions.
Working on six sigma green belt certification also

Extra currics
Started chapter of Toastmasters club In Infosys pune and served as President of club for 1 year.During this 1 year stint ,made Infosys Pune most recognized club in India and interview published in Toastmasters magazine for this succesful feat.

Conducted classes for blind student to empower them with IT
and conducted classes for House keeping staff also in Infosys..

Plan to learn French this year to make my candidature stronger

That is all,please tell what all i can do to emerge succesful from competitive IT pool

Hi,

I think your profile and experience is good enough. 3-5 years seem to be the most common around.
Your toast master and other activities sound promising and impressive. Should be a value add in this highly competitive Indian/IT/Male segment we fall into.

INSEAD is a great school. It could open many doors for your post MBA plans.
One thing, which we tend to neglect is that world is not just US. And with latest H1 fiasco. I personally know of someone who has cancelled his decision to go to chicago and go to INSEAD instead.
He found that INSEAD will give him recognition throughout the world Europe, Asia, Middle east. The whole world is your oyster. He found from his research that chicago and all are great schools but unheard of in europe / asia.

Finally with just 11 month investment your chances of going wrong are even lesser ( compared to being found without a H1 or economic depression in US)

I have a question about the financial aid at Insead...

Does Insead provide any options for students to get a loan for their studying and living expenses at Fontainebleau ? What options are you considering for financing your b-school expenses ?

There is no doubt that it great school and 1 year MBA makes it greater in terms of money and time investment..
H1B should not be problem for US BSchool becasue they have 20,000 additional slots for post graduates.But money investment is huge definitely.


Can you tell me how many folks have International exposure in insead,is it very difficult to make it to Insead without Internationa exposure..

Heartiest congratulations on your admit. I had a question regarding campus choice at INSEAD. What are the advantages and disadvantages of Fonty v/s Singapore campuses? I know that one needs to specify the school preference in the application itself. Hence was curious to know about this.

Hi All,

1) Singapore versus france: you can move between campuses in your course. Almost everyone tastes both sides of insead. ( and few also go to wharton). I think your essays will end up justifying your start location ( note above it's just a start location in reality you can switch as much as you want). So if you say that u want to focus on the asian economies then better be quoting singapore as preferred campus.

You can also change campus before joining. HArder but possible with a justification
