We could start my collating information abt each other.
My stats: Indian/Male/turned 30 a few days back/740/ 6 years experience (4 years in Corporate Finance and 2 years in Investment Research)
My weaknesses: 1) Poor undergrad records primarily due to financial constraints. I have tried to mitigate this weakness by doing pretty well during MMS from Mumbai University. I have also completed the CFA course from the CFA Institute. 2) As mentioned in point#1, I already have a MBA from India and it may get difficult to explain why another MBA
My Strengths: 1) Good work experience. 2) leadership experience (in my current job. leading a team of 3 analysts). 3) good extra cirriculars (intermediate knowledge of a foriegn language, ametuer golf player, etc)
Why MBA: To move into buy side (international; across asset classes)
Targetting:
Wharton
GSB Chicago (applied for '07 RII but with one more day for the interview deadline I am staring at a ding. Looking back, I think my apps could have been much better)
Columbia
NYU Stern
Tuck
I have a question for everyone. Would my age (considering that I would be 31 by the time I start school) be a detremental factor? I have heard that most of the top US schools are looking at younger candidates. |
