Hey PG,
Thanks for that. Yes, I shouldn't be looking for a job just because it would look good on paper... it's easy to think that way though.
Well, for now it's time to focus on my GMAT, Jan 31/ 07.
Actually, a job at PG sounds interesting. I think I'll give the guys in Mumbai a call. If you guys are planning something big and well, interesting, I'm interested.

Hi PG,
I am a B-tech graduate, working with a top Indian IT firm from 3years (A profile similar to every second PG). Now I am looking for a leap in career by perusing an MBA (And thatis what every PG is here for) I am looking for some good b-schools in Asia pacific (including INDIA where GMAT score is accepted) preferably a 12-16 mth. course (Now this is some thing quite different). I am planning to take GMAT soon (as its too late to apply for CAT). I have done some analysis and come up with the following list and also my doubts: 1) ISB (India) Excellent school but I am too late to apply now. 2) NUS (Singapore) Excellent school but how are the placements? 3) SP JAIN PGDM (INDIA) Very Good school but I am how much priority is given to GMAT candidates? 4) HKUST (Hong Kong) Very good school but how is the return on investment (20 Lakh+) 5) NTU (Singapore) Good school but how is its reputation and placement? 6) SP JAIN GMBA (Dubai/Singapore) Good school but how is the return on investment? 7) AIM (Philippines) Good school but how is its reputation and placement now? Please recommend any school or course which I have missed. Also give suggestion on the schools and courses I have mentioned or any thing else. Thanks

Hi All,
Some guy on BW forums posted a pdf on writing business school essays. I found it pretty useful. I am uploading it here. Not violating any copyright issues coz he's ok with free distribution and his name there too.
Attached.... I've got better things to do than argue with every wrong-headed crackpot with an ignorant opinion! I say, either agree with me or take a hike! I'm right, period! END OF DISCUSSION! | | | | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to Susie Derkins For This Useful Post:

Hi all,
I am also planning to appear in GMAT in 2007 and apply for admissions in 2008 to b-schools.
Before going further with queries, let me introduce myself:-
-senior software Engineer with 2.3 yrs of work exp. at Top MNC in telecom.
-BTech(I.T) 3.61/4.0
-XII 84%
-X 85%
-Not much extra-curricular activities
Now,i would like to know:-
1.What all B-schools needs needs to be targetted since I am interested in IT/Hi-tech domain / finance (taking the value for money & relatively financial cost of study in account)?
2.How much time (on avg) it takes to prepare for GMAT for getting 700+ score(i mean when to start prep if target is MBA 2008? | | | | | The Following User Says NO Thank You to connoisseur For This Un-useful Post:

for your questions:
a) do your homework. i know this is an easier way - to simply ask but u shud realise this: anybody else's suggestion is just that - his/her suggestion. you still have to do the homework
b) again subjective. give a mock. see where you stand and then maybe we cud work on the strategy? fair enuf?
Cheers

Kunal | Kunal,
Thanks for the reply.
I have gone through the websites of many International B-schools.I will figure out the answer to a) by this approach.
b) will give tests and judge.
But can you provide your inputs on the placements & ROI part?

for the ROI you can simply check out the mean and median salaries industry wise for the schools (again avl on the websites for the most recent class). Kunal

Visit this link: 2006 MBA PROGRAMS
On this link, you will find separate links for top US programs and international programs. Select a school of your choice and see its complete profile. In the complete profile, you will find a tab for Carrer. It contains placement stats.
(You might have to register with businessweek to access this.) | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to itsrahul For This Useful Post:

Need some help on application deadlines for international students...
I was planning to apply for 2-3 schools in R2 (Jan deadlines) and another 4-5 in R3 (Mar deadlines). However, while browsing through some of the school admission pages, the deadlines for international students seems to be R2.
Can someone clarify this? The primary reason for this deadline seems to be the time it would take to get a visa but it takes <1 month to get a US visa date nowadays. So, I'm wondering if this R2 for internation students is a suggestion or if it is a firm deadline that would eliminate me from consideration post R2.
Thanks,
