Hi,
Could anyone also just guide me, as to how do i apply for Toefl CBT, which site?
For how long is the Toefl score valid. I am planning to apply for 2007 Fall.
I had visited the site Toefl but the site just has information about Toefl iBT.

@Chris_aguiar
Go to www.prometric.com... Choose the respective test(TOEFL in this case)...Have a credit card handy...Register using this...U'll get a confirmation mail immediately to ur mail id...A passport is a necessary requirement for registering...The score is valid for two years
@Warrior
It takes u a month...plus or minus five days...Cos I got my report in a month(Took mine on august 10th...got my report on september 10th)

To the mediocre,mediocrity appears great

Re: A thread for TOEFL - 15-02-2006, 04:19 PM

Hi Guys,

I need help and need it urgently. I registered to write my TOEFL test on 16th Jan. But somehow my credit card was declined :( . Later on, i rescheduled the test and wrote it on 19th Dec. I got a range of 217-263, with which i m not satisfied.

Now i got a letter (postal mail) from ETS saying that my TOEFL fees is due.

I have two options.

1) Pay the 140$+20$(credit card decline) + 40$ (reschedule fee) + 20$(credit card decline) = $220 ;if a credit card is declined once for an appointment, all further transactions with that credit card will be declined. And settle for a score which i m not satisfied with.

2) Dont pay the money and register for TOEFL again with a new credit card.

Now i want to know if TOEFL will allow me to write a test again without paying for the earlier written ones.

Any information or advice in this regard will be very helpful.

Thanks
Vishal

no... i dont think u can go for option no. 2 .... they will not allow u to re-register..(dont ask me how though)... seems the CC problem seems to be occuring too frequently now... a friend of mine too had the same problem.. he had gone for additional score reporting for only one college... the CC had same problem as what u've stated... since he'd already got a reject from the insti where he applied, he did not pay up.,... then ETS threatened to withdraw all scores to all the instis that he had applied... I suggest that u pay up.....

Re: A thread for TOEFL - 22-05-2006, 12:13 PM

I have an urgent query regarding the new TOEFL format - the iBT (Internet based testing) format. This is a new format introduced by ETS as compared to the CBT. What I wanted to know is whether someone has already registered for the IBT. How different is the ibt compared to the cbt? what is the new speaking section which has been introduced in the ibt? And are there any study materials available for this new format?

I'm planning to give TOEFL and i need to make a quick decision whether to select CBT or IBT. Please advise.

Hi,
Can anyone confirm regarding US MBA school's TOEFL policy for Indian students ? I had the understanding that TOEFL is waived off for MBA applicants who have been educated in English. However, the admissions office of U Washington replied to my query in the negative. ie It is mandatory to have a TOEFL score as part of an application.

Comments anyone ?

i guess it depends on the university... quite a few of the top universities waive off TOEFL for MBA applicants if u've had 16 years of education in english.. but then there are some universities that say they need the TOEFL irrespective of ur language of instruction during ur 16 years of education.. seems U Washington is one of them..
