Post Re: GMAT takers JUL/AUG 2008 - 22-01-2008, 06:51 PM

Hello puys,
Its good to see this thread...
I am also planning to give GMAT this july /august but still not started any preparation.
I have few queries for which I need all seniors help.....
At present I am working for a IT firm and have six months work experience.
1) Is the time of july/ august ok for me or is it too early to apply for GMAT.?
2) If I apply for fall session at what time will I get admissions in universities?(By what month I will be in US)
3) By the time of july(when I will give GMAT....hope so)I will have one year of experience and most of the top B schools will not accept my score.The work experience is counted by the time of application or when we get admissions in the universities......

4)while giving GMAT we can apply for 5 universities........ If after the GMAT i want to apply for same universities or may be other universities for spring session then what is the procedure?

Regards,
Rohit

Is there any study schedule in place?
I dont think it's a bad idea to have one.....we could have a consolidated schedule or sumthing put up here...with some a rough sketch of deadlines..
The fact that it'll be here on a public forum and we'll have so many of us following it...will probably make lazibones and procrastination kings and queens like me adhere to it..
what say ?

Hi all,

I recently gave GMAT and found amazingly depressing results.
GMAT score - 480
QS - 37
VS - 20
AOI - 6
AOA - 6

I need to re-take the test and there is no doubt in this. Even though this was my first trial and I didnt prepared well, the results are frustrating. I prepared only OG and I think its not sufficient. A little bit of IMS material but that too wasn't done properly.
I didnt go for any coaching but now I am planning to join one. Can anyone please guide me of to how I should prepare. I'm planning to re-take the test by May-June.

Thanks,
Rahul

Does anyone any other Good B Schools with 1 Yr MBA and any idea how does IMD is rated vis-a-vis INSEAD?

Keep up the activity here.

Cheers,
hey me also planning for same 1 year MBA in India as well as Abroad,
clearly INSEAD is better than MDI and i guess only ISB hyd is of caliber to compare with other top institutes from abroad...

Me Planning for the same during that time !!

Should we try to make a flow as to how do we need to go about it !! Then we can also post our scores on regular basis and also discuss the problem !! What say puys !!!

Is that a Guitar and 6 Chords.. !! No... they are the 6 phases ... Birth,childhood,teenage,youth,old age and death ... Strike them properly and you would get a melody !! And the chord's material ... CAT Whiskers !!!

Hi
Lets prepare a study schedule from Feb 1st as the starting day.
We will have Feb,Mar,Apr,May and Jun to prepare
(July the last month we can have a separate schedule later)

We have five topics- Sentence Correction (SC), Data Sufficiency (DS), Reading Comprehension (RC), Critical Reasoning (CR) and Quans.

Somebody can prepare a schedule and post it here or we can discuss here and formulate the plan for the first three months ....

Will be happy to hear from others in this regard..

Sathya

Feb 4th WEek -> One GMAT mock analyze it properly

March 1st Week - 2nd Week - 3rd Week ---> Kaplan

March 4th Week -> 2 MBA MOcks for GMAT and Analyze

April 1st Week - 2nd Week - 3rd Week -> 1000 all series

April 4th Week -> Princeton

May 1st Week - 2nd Week -> OG Once again

May 3rd week 4th Week -> Kaplan 800

June Complete -> Give MBA mocks every alternate days till 20th June
