hi,
after browzing through 760s and 780s, i am really worried. i took my gmat yesterday. got 610(unexpected as i was getting 690+ always in my mock gmats). i am not planning 2 write gmat again. let me list down my profile :-
i am a 2005 passed out in BE (Computer science). have been working in a software firm for the past 2 years. i have been part of few things in my university
1. i was placement coordinator of my college. thus, i have organized many off-campus and on-campus interviews.
2. i was one among the organizers of the national level technical sysposium conducted by my college.
3. have participated in many paper presentations (but havn't won even 1).
4. i was also coordinator of sponsorship committee of my university.
5. was a visiting lecturer of my college for about an year after completion of my studies.
In my work place :-
1. i was 1 among the coordinators in creating a new committee for Sports. alo, i have been conducting many sports events.
2. i am an editor of our in-house magazine.
3. i have also won best performance award among 2000 associates.
my extra-curricular activities :-
i am a musician (Karnatic music - Mirudangam). have performed in few concerts also.
i really dont know if the above makes a profile. the universities 2 which i am planning 2 apply r :-
1. NYU - Stern
2. Indiana University - Kelly
3. University of Southern California - Marshall
4. Washington University - Olin
5. Michigan State University - Broad
6. Arizona State University - Carey
7. Boston University
8. Ohio State University - Fisher
i am worried if i will get though any of these universities with my gmat score. i need advice on the selection of the universities based on my profile. please help me.
I understand that it would be disheartening to find oneself amidst such a situation. Frankly speaking, it would be very difficult to comment on your chances of getting accepted at any school with whatever little you have mentioned about your profile.
If you do not want to retake your GMAT, what best you can do is search the schools with best chances of getting accepted, take help from friends or professionals and prepare your best application.
Some school you mentioned in your list are difficult to get in (Stern) with current credentials. May be with a decent application, schools like BU, ASU and more should be within your easy reach.

Now, when we fought, you had that eye of the tiger, man; the edge! And now you gotta get it back, and the way to get it back is to go back to the beginning. You know what I mean?See that look in their eyes, Rock? You gotta get that look back, Rock. Eye of the tiger, man.
