Hello Passionzz,

Congrats for the great GMAT Score. Your post was encouraging.

If you want to become a part of the bangalore MBA group (initially it all started with GMAT but now focussed into other things like social service), then please join mbanetworkblr yahoogroup. There are around 45 members in the group.

Link to the group is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mbanetworkblr/

Cheers

Re: GMAT Study group in Bangalore - 22-11-2005, 07:56 PM

Hi all,
Let me introduce myself to this dynamic group.
I am Nitesh, working in one of the software firms in Bangalore.
I plan to take GMAT in Feb.
I have a few questions regarding GMAT:
1. Is coaching really needed for GMAT.
2. If yes, which are the best coaching institutes in bangalore.

If this group is planning to take up any new activity, do let me know.

Cheers,
Nits

Life is tough..., so am I

Nothing much has changed since the info I last posted. Most happenings happen at the yahoogroups mbanetworkblr@yahoogroups.com. But no reason why you guys cannot get active on this thread. So go ahead !!

Disclaimer: I don't want to throw a spanner on your prep

(a) You are barely out of college !! You already seem to be seeking a way out, an escape from the skull-numbing drugedry of coding and testing which almost everyone in software goes through. Be a rock star in whatever you are doing at work. Try to get promoted to a lead position over the next 2 years. Try publishing some articles. Try volunteering for some social causes. Do something to build your profile.

(b) There are no GMAT cut-offs. Remember that this year Stanford rejected *ALL* the 8 applications with a 800 GMAT score !! Similarily, we have our own Simba with admits to ISB/Fuqua with a 640. So chillax. Get a 700+ and that's about it.

(c) Your choice of college should depend on a variety of different factors NOT on the ranks. Anyways which ranks would you depend on ? US-News ? BW ? FT ? Remember another member on this forum arboreal_tarantula rejected an admit with schol from babson to take up isb>

Yogi,

Thanks for your suggestions regarding the other aspects that are to be taken care of, apart from good score in GMAT.

Am a s/w engineer as well, with 21 months work ex. at Wipro.

Iam planning to move to any well known IT consulting firm..
Could you advise me about a few things:
- Do I gotta look for a designation like a lead...
- Should I be joining top s/w firms 'only'...
