i started this thread bcoz i didnt see any such thread elsewhere...when i searched...

it might sound stupid but ...
just wanted to confirm ... if the admit card (that we have take to the center) is the printout of the email (TITLED: IIM ADMIT CARD)... or will the iims send me some attachment ... as the admit card

I think any1 appearing fr cat this year can clarify this for me ... :)

Hi Frnds,

As we know all MBA exam are just few days apart.
I am a software engineer and have 20 month work experience. So, this time i am appearing for CAT,MAT, SNAP, NMAT, FMS, etc some exams.
I want to join good institute in term of placement and package as, I am already working so going for just ok institute would not work for me.I am not looking for top level one also like IIM's, but yeah I want to know institute in which I join with 70-85% in any exam.

Please provide my information, if you know about any institutes.

Hey Puys,

Let us discuss the Career Launcher take-home Full Length Tests(FLTs) in this thread.

The tests under the ambit of this thread are

1. IIFT FLTs (1 and 2)
2. JMET FLTs (1 and 2)
3. SNAP FLTs (1 and 2)

and any other FLT you might have received from CL.

So, let me start with IIFT FLT-1. I took it today.

Scored OA 32 marks :|

I found the paper pretty balanced. RCs were tough. VA was vocab intensive. LR was quite doable. Quant was again tough (I could attempt just about 6 questions). DI was highly calculation intensive.

Since English is my strong point, I could score about 15 marks in RC and VA. About 2 marks in GK. and the rest in other sections.

What's your take on the cutoff for this test?

confusion regarding eligibility

my college considers only final year marks for the degree...i scored 51% in the final year of engineering and have been awarded degree with same marks printed on it but my overall percentage is 48%. i really wanna noe am i eligible for the colleges having 50% aggregate eligibility criterion??? m confused...please help as the last date of registration of all the colleges is around the corner.

Govt Job Exp for Top B-Schools

Presently I am working in an Indian IT company, I got a Central Govt Job in BSNL. My future goal is to accomplish an MBA in one of the top 10 Indian B-schools. Right now, my confusion to whether to take up the govt job or not. Does working in a govt company derate my profile ??? Does the work experience in BSNL count for an MBA???Please give your valuable commmens on this.. :-(:-(

CAT & GMAT prep from second year engg

Hello all

I am as of now in my second year doing engineering in electronics and telecommunications from Mumbai University and I am very much interested in writing the CAT along GMAT.

I wished to know whether I can start preparing for the same from my second year itself or should i wait for some more time. Should i enroll in some classes or should I purchase a good book from the market and start right away.

I am trying to use this site but I end up getting lost beneath large amount of forums and questions etc etc. So i though I will create a new thread and be done with my doubts.

And my last doubt is that do IIMs emphasise a lot on extra curricular activities like the B Schools abroad?..as i do not have a lot of extra curricular activities to bank on.

Hey Puys,i am starting this thread since now days ,we have to fill our details regarding hobbies,strengths,weaknesses and all that at the time of form filling as in FORE, WELINGKER and in many other good b schools.But the students who are giving CAT for the first time or second time do not know how to answer these questions as these questions are very useful in Interview also,So I want every PUY to share their views regarding the answers given by them at the interview and they got selected so that every new student will get a lot of help from the answers given by them.I have search The whole PG ,but i m unable to find a thread like this with answers.....

Hi puys,

Need some advice / pls share some thoughts on the prep strategy you are doing last lap of the race. Am done with revising all the aimcats, I had.

I am a bit down on the VA side. I was doing well on the AIMCATS VA(95+ ) until the last few mocks when things have gone horribly wrong in VA.

Then today I picked up the CAT2006 paper and was completely blown away by the RCs :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Hi Everyone,

With CAT exam nearing and people having multiple queries and doubts about preparation and tips apart from any specific doubts, I have decided to help you all with your queries as far as I can. I do understand that the process is strenous and hectic but having been through this I would like to share that it is actually not at all difficult if u are lil bit sincere and thoughtful !! Trust me it is easiest to crack the written test and tough in the interviews.
I would be glad if i can help you all with any queries related to preparation or any similar doubts related to CAT and the process and how to crack CAT.

Few common pointers:

Use every mock test to build ur strategy
Forget ur ego and dont waste time on questions that are tough
Dont take it as the end else u will end up giving much less than 100% in the D-Day
