u cant acheive accuracy in pjs so easily .do a lot of practise.all of the techniques are already mentioned. well my take is elimination and finding teo consequetive sentences are best strategies. here are someother tips..

first sentence will never start with a pronoun like he, she, they, etc.
look for words like but,on other hand, also, secondly etc ..these words help in making series.

in 6 sentence cases check for last sentence ,i usually find it easy..

u have to all strategies to do pjs , there is no universal formula for them..keep practising...it works

pj never have any fixed rules and yes they can start with a pronoun yhe best way is to find mandatory pair and look at the options

i agree but pronoun rule apply to more than 90% cases.

eu is a big prob for me too man. u need to know basic of grammar to do them. also doing lots of reading helps. one way of eliminating options is reading out sentences at a flow rather than looking for specific mistakes.this helps in eliminating options..

hi with this little time left to cat i think u better off practicising tests then bothering about something u are not comfortable with so jus take it easy on english usage and in the paper itself jus attempt it at the very end that will be the best probably

Re: Tips on the Verbal Section - 10-11-2005, 10:03 AM

well now wen we all re in da final stage its not a very good thng to try out new thngs..
for those of u who find EU diff. here re a few tips
1> for pjs elimination is somethng dat work wonders wit me.. try out eliminatin da options, try to find da beginnin of the para, say lookin at da options u feel dat the sentence definitely start wit A(one of da parts of da para) then eliminate da options which doesn hav A at start.. n so on..
suppose options re ABCD, ACBD,DACB, DBCA, then 2 can be easily eliminated among da 4..
2> for sentence correction refferin to GRE/GMAT materials re an excellent idea, IMS VA also is vry vry helpful.
3>da elimination technique can also be applied on da match da followin type word meanin. it always works
4>for RC da ideal approach can be to read da first para n go to questions n keep comin back to da passage..
last time da paper had 50 questions in VA
21 RC
14 VA(1 markers)
5 IR/CR(2 markers)
10 word meanin(1/2 markers)
its easy to get 12-13 in RC in 20 min time.
belive me one van get 10 on 10 in 2 markers if u keep ur minds open a little
in the remainin 19 marks 12-13 is gettable
so 34-35 is not dat diff. to gt
wat say
