hey sibs
thnx for the advice dude....
the problem is that i dont get a good accuracy in english section
in 4 mockcats that i attempted, my attempts were decent, but i get as many as 10-12 worng, which screws ma whole paper. i cant even clear cutoffs in english.
can u tell me some areas of english which i can work upon so that i improve ma score....
for example i am fairly confident in pj's and i \usually get 4outa5 right but other than this i fail miserably........:x

personally...when i gave cat .i gave pj's a wide berth coz i was never good at them and ended up making too many mistakes..its great that you are good at them.
I am sure that with an improved vocab that you are sure to have by Nov, u'll be able to tackle the synonyms, antonyms as well as the relational questions pretty accurately..
an area where you can concentrate on can be in RC's where, with improved reading speed, u'l be able to attempt more questions...
try to select RC's on the basis of the no: of direct questions they have, as compared to inferential questions.you should be able to attempt at least 3 rc's..minimum

Tips for improving vocab - 05-08-2005, 03:14 PM

if u havent already learnt many words while at school or during graduation - NOW is the time to cram up those silly little unknown devils!!
look! there is no subsitute for hard work. so u better tie up those shoe laces..
  • pick up a god damn dictionary and start learning words!!
  • enroll urself for those 'word for the day' online servies,
  • carry those 'word cards' (TIME issues them.. or still better u can make them urself!),
  • try to understand the 'root' of all words(this will enable intelligent guessing)
  • read , read and read!!!
just saying that "Oh! How am i supposed to know the meaning of this unheard-of-word??", does not work. You HAVE to learn words. and once u get into the habit, its not too difficult to sustain. u still have time. All the Best!!
