I feel I should share the experiment ( and the results *

) which I am trying out these days to handle this perennial problem...
This applies to a 3 section paper....
To begin with, I am comfortable with DI and my QA is decent but these days, I wasn't able to perform well in QA becuase of pressure of over-performing...As a result, I was not able to find the sitters and used to get bogged down by difficult problems ...hence, a meagre score in QA...to add to it, I used to screw up big time in RC/EU/VA
This strategy will be helpful to the guys who are :
--Comfortable with DI
--Good at quants ( especially when they solve the same paper back home and crack everything ) but not able to score in the exam (some how *

)
--Pathetic at RC/EU/VA ( due to time limit given to them ..otherwise they have the potential to score better )
If you fall into this category , read on or else quit...I have this bad experience of adapting to people's policy and ending up in a major fiasco as our strengths and weaknesses would be different...
Start with DI / DS : 30 minutes ---25 Attempts ( 90% accuracy )
Then give 15 minutes to VA/EU..take your time..attempt only those you are comfortable with...don't attempt the ones you are no sure of...I presume you attempt 18 out of 25 with 80 % accuracy...good enough....
Then go to QA : Pretend that there are only 25 questions in the paper and start picking up the sitters in them (and no so difficult ones as well) and start solving...do so for 20 minutes ...I am sure you would have got 10 questions ( at 100 % accuracy )...DON'T PANIC IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SOLVE 10...EVEN 6-7 IS ENOUGH NOW ...
if you are done with 10 in quants , adapt route 1...if you are less than that, take route 2...
route 1 : give 35 minutes to RC..solve 4 passage at 80-90% accuracy...very carefully...this is the area where you can't afford to mess....attempt 20 ...get 18 right....
Now, go back to QA and solve 10 more in 20 mins. this time..take the remaining 25 questions *
Route 2: Give 25-30 minutes to RC...do three passages and solve 15...get 12 right...
go back to quants...you have 25 minutes ..relax and crack 10 more..i know you can do it..there are enough easy ones in quants..this time..take the remaining 25 questions
It has helped me in 2 respect :
1 ) Ease of the pressure that normally builds up while doing QA ...
2 ) Allot more and scattered time for Rc and VA and concentrate more and get them right....earlier, I used to get saturated by doing english for 40 nonstop minutes.....
give it a try ...should help...
PS : Count your net score..I think you have just secured a seat for you at IIMs *
