Hi Puys
There are a couple of other threads on word meanings but what i noticed there is that dedicated puys post the most typical words along with their meaning and no usage....
and in my personal opiniun this practice is not gud..(forgive me if nyone feels that i m criticizing nyone)....my only point is that word without usage are very hard to be remembered in the long run.....
to crack ny entrance exam we need to understand a word and not just its meanings....apart frm CAT other entrance exams are famous for giving a gud 20% of the paper on word usage in the form of synonyms, antonyms or at times direct vocab....
what i have planned for this thread is that we will post word meanings in the below format...and the words mostly picked up from the day's newspaper... Word: Meaning: Root: Synonyms: Antonyms: USAGE:
(wil try my best to fill the above heads where ever possible)..
also as a clarification: there are many online dictionaries which have the words in the above format(or may be better than that)...but the only question is that how many of us do really visit them and do sum R&D....
so puys i need to know how many of us are together...and how many of us agree to this....
if everyone gives a nod i will start posting words here rght away and stop posting it on the VA GUIDE 2008 thread as i had been doing till date...
all suggestions invited.....
regards
