It is true that the Verbal portion of the CAT has a shrunk to a great extent. But you never know what comes next with the CAT! Besides, a strong basic grounding in Verbal skills is essential for tackling Critical Reasoning questions as well!!!
For example one of the Questions in the RCs of 2006 required you to identify the differnt shades in the meaning of the words "hypothetical" and "imaginary".
Keeping all this in mind , this thread is dedicated to Verbal Acrobatics for CAT 2007.
Regards
Tanveer
p.s Also, I was getting a lot of queries regarding VA doubts. Those can be posted here now!!

p.s Also, I was getting a lot of queries regarding VA doubts. Those can be posted here now!! | Tanveer bhai...a great step forward this!
As an intro, it'd be appropriate to remind everyone that CAT-2006 Verbal Ability was not a test of your verbal ability...it's a test of how lucky u can get under pressure.
On a more serious note, the junta who were giving the exam had never stressed on the questions given in the exam during the preparation phase...they never saw them coming.
One starting point for cracking the VA section of the CAT would be to get acquainted with the GMAT style, to which the CAT - 2006 verbal bore an uncanny resemblance.
Here is list of comprehensive exercises for RC (Reading Comprehension), the GMAT style: http://www.scoretop.com/forum/upload...AT_READING.doc
I haven't yet come across the Inferential reasoning and the sentence completion exercises...but this: http://www.scoretop.com/forum/uploads/GMAT_LSAT_CR.doc
would be a great start!
Note: in order to see the answers in MS Word,
go to Tools -> Options ->View -> Hidden Text (under the Formatting Marks section)
Happy preparing fellas...have a ball of a time Life is a sexually transmitted disease.
