Hi huys,

In the following, can the third statement be derived from the first two?

A) No A is B.
B) Some B are C.
C) Some A are not C.

Usually from the distribution tables, we can conclude that
"Some C are not A".

But here as Some Not is derived from 'No', can we interchange the positions of A and C.

i dont think u can derive a conclusion between A and C

all those c's which are b's will not be a's
so we can say that some a are not c

Hi,
As par my knowledge,
We can not conclude SOME A's are not C's.Also we can not interchange their position as it will affect their DISTRIBUTION PATTERN.

just check out the attached venn diagram. u can very well see some C are not A, but you definitely cannot say some A aur not C, since A is a subset of C.

i just verified it and knew where i went wrong.
and sasuke, thanks for the correction.
i think i got confused when they said some not is derived from 'no'.

now i got it.
