help needed --Accomodation in Delhi

hi there..
i am an iim aspirant. i will definitely make it to the top b- school ...but i have a problem right now...
i am from pathankot, and i am going to take my coaching for the cat 2005 in newdelhi..from june-december...
i will be preferring the careerlauncher-south delhi campus. ..any more suggestions regarding this?
the main problem is of accommodation...i do not know anybody in delhi..so how can i arrange an economical accommodation near my coaching institute..i need detailed knowledge regarding this..please help me..
please act on a personal basis..

here's my advice...tho im not sure,but i guess if u dunno anyone in delhi and living there might b difficult,maybe u can try getting coaching in chandigarh if u know ppl thr.tho im not sure of the kind of coaching available there,it used to be pretty good in case of IIT-JEE.the quality and quantity of ppl prep for cat might b better in delhi but i dont think that wud matter before the GD/PI stage.

dost, there's lots of accomadation available around south delhi, right in front of the market, 'south ex.' but i'd advise you to come a bit sooner and reserve a 'pg' before the freshers come for a new session..

but u leave me wondering whether you intend to do nothing else besides preparing for cat this yr. Please reconsider if you are!!! am aware of ppl with amazing profiles not converting them bcoz of the same.

Lastly, Delhi coaching wuld definitely be better than other cities, but is still found wanting.The work material and your work generally is the key as far as the 1st stage of the selection process is concerned, though this may vary frm person to person.

dude i agree whatever u do try to get some work ex while u study man...just dont concentrate on studies alone...u might crack ur CAT but end up cutting a really sorry figure at ur PI

thanks for replying with concern..
there are about 60%freshers in the iims...so i have heared...
i will have my trainig at some industry ..but i wont be concentrating on that too much..as i am not so interested in the technical side of my mech engg...! besides, it is only in our punjab tech university and a few others that there is 6 months training for a full semester!! other freshers do only 2 months training..just as in nits and iits etc.. so what do they answer in the PI?? i will also manage my 2 months internship after cat..wont it be ok?? i mean if i concentrate on cat 2k5 ..will it be not effective for getting a 99+ &ile? 'coz some one told me that with an intense and scathing comptt..the %ile depends upon the no. of hours we put in..despite our attitude...
please also clarify ur work ex funda with relation to PI, what can a freher do...??
i will manage the clarification of my internship period with good knowledge of the project in the company from where i will be getting my certificate from...from my friends who might be doin training there...

CL - South Delhi means South campus Center???? if yes you can find PG accomodation nearby as area is flourishing with PG business coz of so many colleges arround

Firstly im not a CAT cracker but here go my 2 cents...

ok from what ur sayin i understand that technically ur still in the final year of ur eng where in the duration of ur final sem industrial training u intend to prep for CAT2k5...in that case go ahead...but do have some competency over what u wudve done for ur Ind Training!!

How did you bump into such an old thread???& Don't mind but Is this really the right place to ask this question?

You sure might be having some relatives or acquaintances in Delhi,you could take their help in hunting for a dwelling..or better still..if you have come here for coaching,you could talk about the problem to someone in your institute..most of the PG owners drop their addresses with the instis so that they can reach to their clients easily..& in any case,the teams behind desks in such instis are generally localites..n they might come to be of some fruitful help..

n If you've come here for job..you should talk to your colleagues..They are in a better shape to help you than us..
