Vikas Kedia is running one California and calcutta based company - GRMtech(Great Media Technology) which is a internet based marketing solution company...I think he is doing extreamely well and will touch the TOP 10 entrepreneur of India in future
==========================
about him in his own words..

"I am a 28 year old living in Santa Cruz, California. I divide my waking hours between going to the gym, enjoying the beach, following some cultural pursuits in the valley and managing my company.
I am obsessed with using computing power to solve interesting problems. I have always enjoyed doing research to find the perfect solution, a solution better then good enough. My previous research areas include building efficient algorithms for stock trading and building xml schemas for data transfer between organizations. Two research areas I am currently focussed in are building participative communities and analyzing patterns in paid clicks to detect fraud.

Achievements
Internext: We use the Internext Platform to create participatiry internet communities. Check out the article on wired magazine about the work we are doing on http://www.visitlab.com. DebtConsolidationCare another project of ours has been a continous source of inspiration with its testimonials. Here is a list of current challenges we are working on, if you are working in similar areas please feel free to send me an email at kedia.vikas-nospam-@gmail.com
Knowledge Enabled Networks: I started this company in 2000. Here is some of the press coverage. This company was closed in 2002.
Financial game software: I developed this with my colleague, Naveen in 1999. Here is some press coverage.
President of computer and maths society: at my undergraduate college: Here is some press coverage.
While you are here also check out my Certificates"

Hi Guys!

If somebody doesnt have the capital to start his own company then what is the solution? I am planning to do mba now. Then after that work expereince of 7 years, then start my own investment company. But I came across this thread and came to know about the Entrepreneur development institute in which I can do a diploma in entrepreneurship and think of starting my own company after 1 year but for that also I need capital. Will the institute help me in setting up the company if I complete the diploma.

BTW: what is the last date to apply for EDI...............?

hi mayank, first of all tell me what kind of a mba school
ru looking at ? i am from ahmedabad and although EDI is
considered to be a good institute i wouldnt recommend it
very much. infact, what u could look at is a business incubator
if u already have a business idea in mind.
there r 5 business incubators in Ahd. itself and they will provide
a much better start and exposure to u.

i myself am looking at doing an mba from iimk ( p.s. i got only 1 call)
and then starting out on my own in abt 3 yrs.

check out www.nirmalabs.org and www.ediindia.org

I have done my post graduation from EDI....
So be assured that it is not the place for you ...
It is for people who have family businesses and are not really interested in pursuing a two year management course... so in one year they give you some idea.. and plus they give you the tag "Post Graduate"... yes even I am one

Coming back to the capital required...
Try Venture capitalists... or as RagnRoll pointed out try business incubators...

Hope that helps
~ Gulshan

I gave the entrance somewhere in June and interview in July...
But heard that this year they are planning to start the course in June...

So I would suggest that you keep checking the website...
They do update it on a regular basis...

From what I have heard...
That it is an interesting camp..
You do get to learn a few things...
And you get to enjoy also...
As you get to stay on campus...

Also we used to think that it was marketing tactic.. with which EDI hoped to lure in students for its Post Graduate Programmes... in my batch there were two such bakras ....

All said and done... the feedback : it is worth enrolling for the camp
