hey ppl,

i'v always been wondering what career options are available in the Indian aviation industry??

1) what are the jobs on offer (i heard they pay is gr

2) what qualifications are required ( they obviously wont take a person who is prone to accidents )

3) who are the recruiters ( there is jet airways whose IPO was oversubscribed - so they have some money to burn )

4) how long does one undertake a course for and which are the coaching instituties ( obviously not IMS and TIME )

5) after i'm all ready - will they let me fly ( or will i be handling the baggage or the lollipops on the tarnmac )

guys gimme some gyan !

1) Co-Pilot, Trainee or Flight Instructor
2) Min. HSC pass with physics if you want to fly commercial. Else SSC is enough
3) Deccan Air and other newer private airlines. But dont expect to be hired rightaway. Prepare to search for 5/6 years for a job.
4) CPL ( Commercial Pilot License ) - approx 1 year.
5) Yes.. Fly fly .. provided you get a job that is

This thread has been dormant for a very long time now!! Let me try to give some boost to it... I am an avid avionics enthusiast... Unfortunately in the wrong career now!! sahh!! But will definitely get a PPL... One does not need 10+2 with phy and maths for it... No scope in that though!! that will be just for hobby flying... There are lot of courses online for flight training... But as they say you cant learn swimming staying at the shores,... but u do get to learn a lot... well, i sure have learnt lots, and its very interesting...
