Hey CoolSurfer and Kanu, Why dont you people give us an intro about the stuff you're talking about ?? Tried Google, but couldn't understand where to start and where to end !! It seems like another version of 'Art of Living', just that. Please give us the links to the official sites of this. Kanu, you're good in elaborating things, please try to compile an article or something on this. Also try to give us the translations while you use that alien kinda language. @Kanu: Is it FMS, or any other insti ? Genuinely interested, Rick. The 'Brave' may not live forever, but the 'Cautious' do not live at all ... !! | | | | | | | |

Im glad u r keen to knw abt this practise.. sure we wud translate while using such lang..its japanese actually although i too dnt knw japanese but im familiar with few words.. Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG) is NGO of Japan. Sokka Gakkai means value creation. The purpose of our organization is to promote world peace, culture & education based on this humanistic Buddhist philosophy. Mr Daisaku Ikeda is our current president. It is he who we refer to as sensei (means mentor). Hats off to him! He is against the use of nuclear weapons, wars, non violence, hatred. Soka Gakkai Internatioal (SGI) is across the world, in India it is called BSG. Nichiren daishonin’s Buddhism is practiced by more tham 12 million people in 128 countries under the auspices of the SGI. SGI believes that the development of peace, culture & education are essential to building a better world. SGI is a non governmental organization with official ties to United Nations. I mentioned in my post kosen rufu.. that’s the mission of this organization.. Kosen-rufu means spreading happiness or world peace Check our official website http://www.sgi.org/ Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism traces its origins to the teachings of Shakyamuni, who is said to have lived some 2500 years ago. Known as Siddhartha Gautama in his youth, at age 19, he was a royal heir in India. His life was far removed from everyday life of common people, and when he discovered how people suffered outside the palace walls, he set out to find how to overcome the roots of basic human suffering. He made it his life’s purpose to find solution to the inescapable sufferings of life…… he went thru lot of harships… & it took him long time to realize the ultimate reality. He entered a profound meditation and finally attained enlightenment under a Bodhi (peepal) tree. His ultimate aim was then to show people that they inherently possessed Buddhahood (highest state of life condition) and could develop the qualities needed to conquer their sufferings… However, it was Nichiren Daishonin in Japan who took the final all-important step to transform profound theory into simple practice.. and thereby enable ordinary people to reveal their highest state of life in midst of day to day realities.. it helps people to overcome problems related to health, relationships, finance, jobs, studies etc etc… We all have potential to live a winning life!! Its upto us whether we manifest it or not.. thru this practice we are able to bring our best and live happy & victorious lives…. Will post more… ask any queries u want to…. Rgrds Kanu PS: yeah! will b joining FMS If you don't have it here (pointing to the heart), it doesn't matter what you've got here (pointing at the head).

Hi ppl
Kanu has beautifully mentioned everything I wanted to say abt our organization SGI though. Thanks Kanu.
Though she mentioned that its practised in 120 countries..just wud like to change that to 190 countries and territories...and infact there are well over 25000 members in India itself.
Kanu talked about kosen rufu which in Japanese means spreading happiness or world peace.
To add a little more on that, Sensei Ikeda(SGI President) says and I quote "The spread of the Mystic Law from one person to another is kosen-rufu.But Kosen-rufu is not about numbers; it's a process, an eternal flow.Kosen-rufu is not something that will end at some fixed point in time."
So simply put, kosen-rufu is the movement to communicate the ultimate way to happiness & the highest principle of peace to people of all classes and nations through the correct teaching and philosphy of Nichiren Daishonin.
Just to add few more things to what kanu mentioned though im myself releatively new to this practise(its been 3 yrs almost).
Besides the suffering of birth, old age, sickness and death, people around the world are struggling from all kinds of problems in health, relationship, careers and finance…etc. It seems we have endless personal challenges to overcome, and they are just overwhelming. We don’t know where to start and how to break through.
So the next logical question would be that what should we do
The answer to that would be- Don't worry.
As the practitioners of Nichiren Buddhism and SGI members, we have the fortune to derive great results as long as we practice this Buddhism diligently and correctly. We also carry the mission, the means and the capacity to bring happiness to people. In order for us to become capable of helping other people, we ourselves have to show actual proofs and become happy first. It is not because we are selfish. It is because we will do a greater job to help others if we have the actual proofs to show them.
& how do we become happy- you might ask this
So...First, we set a goal about what we want in life, the improvement we wish to see in our situation or how our ambition desires us to accelerate to a higher level. Then, we have to work very hard, never giving up, to make our goals or dreams come true.
I could go on and on..but i would leave it here now for all of you to go thru it..
and hey do ask nething more u want to ask from kanu and me...its really feels nice to see this thread up and running finally inspite of intitating this thread way back in September

Ok lemme explain the Mystic Law here. There is a universal law working in every1s life. Thts the Law of Cause & Effect. It means if we create bad causes then we are bound to face its bad effects sometime in future. Causes r created in 3 ways i.e. thru thoughts, words and deeds. Thinking bad about some1, slandering some1, taking some1s life r bad causes. Slandering the True Law itself is a bad cause. Therefore, we must make efforts to create good causes in order to live a life of great fortune. Quote: |

Buddhism shows us the most satisfying way to live amongst othrs. It explains tht when we help others overcome their problems, our own lives are expanded. When our capacity increases and our character is strengthened, the source of our problem comes under our control. Becoz we make an internal change, our relationship with our probs change as well, wresting positive resolutions in any number of astounding yet tangible ways.
Wud like to add some more here…
Winning in life, however, is not the absence or avoidance of problems. Being human, we will constantly meet up with challenges. True happiness or victory in life is having the tools to take on each hurdle, overcome it & become stronger & wiser in the process. Inside each human being is a storehouse of all the necessary traits to tackle any prob tht confronts us. Buddhism is the practice tht allows us to access this storehouse and unleash our inherent power to take on all of life’s challenges and WIN!
cheers & smiles
