Hey guys, I think the nostalgia about DD is only because we had very limited content to see. Over the last 13 odd years (I think Cable TV took wings sometime in 1991 and finally took to flight with the World cup in 1992) our attention span has drastically reduced. I doubt if anyone would eagarly wait to do any of the following these days :
1) Not play cricket on a Sunday evening to watch the movie on TV (some arcane 1970s stuff)
2) Do home-work early to see Nukkad.
3) Rush home early from school to watch Didi's nonstop nonsense.
4) Watch Humlog on a nice summer night.
5) Try to catch up on the latest hits on Chitrahaar, to talk about in school the next day.
.......... so on...........
The point is I bet you wouldnt do even 1/4th of the things listed here. Why would I watch chitrahaar when the latest songs are blaring from each channel worth its suscription cost ? Why should i put up with not watching the Wimbledon finals because some president of the 1970s died (this actually happened sometime in 1986-87) ?
But on the flip side there were immemorable serials then :
1) Yeh jo hai zindagi.......redefined comedy. I remember an episode where Satish Shah is a lottery dealer who keeps saying "Mereko 30years ka experience hai"
2) Subah.........got banned because it "glorified drugs", but anyone who saw it cannot forget Salim Ghouse's personality.
to name a couple.

PS: The Quila ka rehasya had a very eerie song which went like "Yeh hai .... abhishapdt quila.....isme.....kabhi mat jaanaa........mat jaanaa......."
