nibupraju, isnt that the link to this thread?

anyways, shells, DU's language courses r very highly rated from what i heard. No first hand exp.

Even otherwise, language courses ka recognition is more if done from a univ than pvt orgs, unless ofcourse it Alliance Frances (nt sure of the spelling) or such.

BTW, y r u nt considering AF? They have a center in South Ex...

Uday

yea..i guess the foreign language courses from JNU are of high repute. U'll have MNC's running after you.

But, then I know several guys who have done their MA in French but still go attend classes at Alliance.

So, I reckon that Alliance, Max Mueller etc are DA places to learn foreign Lingos.

Cheers.

hi ,
Learning a Foreign language is definitely worth it … u learn a lot abt the country and its culture ..
A lot of things abt Language structure and phonetics .. I actually gained a better understanding of English language after doing my German at CIEFL, Hyderabad .. If u are based in hyd , learn German there its really good.
Viel Erfolg!!!!!!!

Re: foriengn language - 11-07-2004, 06:04 PM

I had a go at Russian. Obviously, learning a foreign language does help u but the point is that it isn't as easy as it seems. Most of have this dogma that learning a foreign language is as easy as learning english but have we ever thought we were taught enlish as a language in our schools for such a long duration. The crux of the matter is that a normal person shall have to devote considerable amount of time in learning any foreign language. So my advice to all CATins is better prepare for CAT rather that learning any new language. I m not disparaging anyone, infact revealing the truth coz i have had an attempt at Russian an i know how tuff it is.
Regards,
Pearl.
