Ah! Asterix! One of the best comic series I have ever read and the way they Uderzo and Goscinny blend in fact<history> with fiction is astounding! Guys I don't recall the book but do you remember the explanation given for the existence of Stone Henges?? too good! I have a fetish for puns and Asterix series are replete with it The names are hilarious..other than the stated ones that comes to my mind offhand is .."Unhygienix" ,"Cacophonix","Getafix","Geriartrix" etc...absolutely hilarious! There is subtle humor and veiled references to persons,incidents, idiosyncrasies of ppl of different nationalities in the novels...though TINTIN is more adventurous in the literal sense and the humor is more situational there ..Asterix winds hands down simply because of the verbal humor! *if* you are a punster you will know what I mean

Hey ppl !

Hv read arnd 10 of 'em... Was introduced to Asterix in early 90s... but the funniest part is - was introduced in Hindi !!!

And wen i read their Eng versions, it was even more hillarious... specifically, as to how they had Indian-ized the one-liners...

Even the names hv been converted to give the right kinda feel... Some of the Hindi-ised names i remember as of now r:-
Vitalstatistix = Motumaalix
Dogmatix = Bhaunkix
Cacophonix = Besurix
Getafix = Vaidyanaathix
Potion = Kaadha :wink:
