Next Terror eMail Could Come from IIM-A - 19-11-2008, 08:03 PM

IIM-A and many alike institutes are operating Wi-Fi network on campus. Crime branch officials from Ahemdabad have found as many as five unsecured Internet connections in Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and two in Gujarat University. It's been noted that, many other institutes in the city have unsecured wireless internet services which can be easily used by the terrorists or anyone else for sending threatening emails.

Wireless internet connections named Linksys, Devdhar, Pronet, AK Jain, Gandhi have been found at IIM-A, and the main intranet used in the campus named WLAN unsecured. Unsecured here means where no strict firewalls are defined and where one can hack into the system with a software available on internet. It's dangerous as in such institutions, it becomes difficult to check every connection.

Similarly, Gujarat University also has such unsecured connections. There was a connection titled WA00131 that had more than two nodes available for use. The connection is used by faculty members and in residential campus.

Terror organisations know well that educational institutes are biggest user groups for internet connection. There are many WiFi campuses in Gujarat alone. However, terrorists now identified as Peerbhoy and Shaikh cleverly used Khalsa College connection in Mumbai. They also took care of deleting history from administrator log, making it difficult for cyber officials to get digital footprints. It can happen in Ahmedabad too.

City crime branch has urged citizens to secure their wireless connections with advanced software and firewalls. "Most routers have security features but by default they are not activated," said cyber crime experts.

A daily glass of orange juice can increase diabetes risk

London, July 27 (ANI): Just one glass of tangy orange juice a day can increase your chances of developing diabetes, a new study has found.
The studys researchers found that women who drink a glass of fruit juice every morning are 18 per cent more likely to get type two diabetes.
It’’s not yet known if men face the same risk as the results came from a study only involving 70,000 female nurses.
Yet researchers found eating whole fruits instead actually reduced the risk of diabetes.
Those who eat three pieces of fruit instead actually reduce their risk by 18 per cent.
Experts believe the natural sugars in juice are absorbed too rapidly in the stomach, causing a surge in blood sugar levels.
This does not apply to solid fruit as the fibre slows its digestion.
The study has been published in the journal Diabetes Care. (ANI)

Hello Prem_Ravi,

There's no purpose for any topics posted in this category. It's a Lounge - ChitChat Section. Anyone is allowed to share their views and knowledge.

BTW, Thread isn't attacked by terrorists, the whole website can be.

If you can't contribute to the topic further, I would recommend you do not criticize in this section at least.

Have a nice time ahead.

Mr.Head.
What "Chit-Chat" do you expect people to come up with after copy pasting some piece of news that you found in some paper or magazine? If you take the trouble of looking around this section you will find that the topics are such that people can express their opinions about something..Not like your post where all that puys can do is either agree or disagree to it ..Hmm, regarding the fact that a thread cannot be attacked by terrorists, thanks for enlightening us..We did not know that.Prem_Ravi is too naive, right ..
Feel free to groan at me...Prem_Bhai, Last rites to this thread please !

Yes, this is a chit chat section and you are allowed to share info but if there is a similar thread , then you need to continue on the same rather then opening a new thread.

Continue on thread : Blasts in India

Thread locked.
