I hope you did not put that query specifically to Gaurav.

Anyway, from what I interpret, I think you wanna download videos from websites like Youtube, Google Videos. To do that, you can use this:

KeepVid: Download videos from Google, Youtube, iFilm, Putfile, Metacafe, DailyMotion!

Change the extension of the downloaded file to .flv. Then you can use any flv player to play that file.

For those who use Firefox, there is extension available to do the same. Get it here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/

And, if you want to convert the .flv file to .mpeg or some other format, you can do that by downloading converters available freely on the internet.

PS: In case you were asking something else, excuse me.

3gpp2 video player - 14-12-2006, 12:39 PM

Salaam bhailog...

I have been looking for a 3gpp2 video player..
When we record clips on a CDMA phone its extension is 3gpp2...

Tried a couple of them and always got one result : no sound...
Tried the following :

1. VLC
2. Nokia Player
3. And a couple of others...

Please suggest me a player..

Thanx

Try Real player, Quick Time player, Divx player... if u still dun get sound, try updating the player. It will work, unless u have some codec problems. But updating it should solve even that. In case, u still face problems, install some K-lite codec etc.

Let me know if it works or not. If it still doesnt just send me the file and i will check it.

but does that increase load on the processor?? i mean the processor would have to "unzip" the file to use or something like that?

it does increase the load but on an extremly meagre amount. It is advisable that you don't apply disk compression to the drive on which OS is installed, coz files are accessed frequently from this partition. However, it is advisable to apply disk compression to the other drives which are not accessed frequently....like on partitions where music, movies are stored( this is assuming you have more than one partition). Howeva, if u have only one partition, then DON'T apply disk compression.

I have personally not kept disk compression on my OS drive, but all the other partitions are compressed. I have even compressed my "DOCUMENTS and SETTINGS" folder in c drive. Damn good space saver. Almost 1GB was saved by compressing this folder.

BUT, never compress the WINDOWS and PROGRAM FILES folder.(Not a rule though). It's your wish.
