My institute has both Wi-fi as well as cable connection. Does using both simultaneously will increase the downloading speed (and to what extent)? There's an option ' bridging the connection' . When I bridge both the connection, net stops working. Why is it so.....And if there is a way to increase the speed using both, what is it?

Hmm...I am not sure if that would do any good...I am not exactly clear on the details, but I believe both are just two different access mechanisms for the same pipe... Someone correct me if I'm wrong

ROFL Helluva funny way that you've posted this in Nope, no one here's gonna tell ya how to bypass activation procedures and the like...There are loads more places for that on the web.. But yea, for connecting thro gprs, why would you need pc suite??? do you have a bluetooth dongle...Once you set that up, you can create a dial-up pretty easily...

Cheers

Even I don't think so that both of them can work together.... either u can use wi-fi or ur wired connection

No, one can use both the connections. Assuming you have two ethernet cards for each of the connections, you can set up two diff ip addresses for both the cards. Then you can configure the diff applications to use diff connections.. For e.g. for FTP applications use cable connection and for applications like messenger and web browsing use wireless connections.

I know how to this in Linux. Am sure this can be done in windows as well but am not sure how..

u can connect to both the connections but i dont know of any application other than proxy servers or like that can handle these two diff conections simultnsly. U can have different applications running on these different connections as ur m/c have different ip for these differnt connections, as already put in by sm1.
