Same error msg is displayed when I try to install latest Google Chrome version.

Answering problem 1, I doubt that you can uninstall IE without facing some problems. It's a convoluted way to uninstall it (which I'm not very sure of) and I've read that it affects the stability of the system. So the better way is to just upgrade to some newer version of IE.

The Latest version from Firefox is 3.5,

3.0.11 and 3.0.10 are the earlier versions.
there ain't any versions like 3.1, 3.2 or 3.4..... they have some internal nomenclature and it's not always necessary that the version follows a sequence.

As the version goes, three main versions are :

2.0 with few further dev like 2.0.1.. etc which were developed for internal testings.

3.0 the next version, with further few upadted ones as 3.0.10 and 3.0.11

3.5 next to 3.0 series, no 3.1 or 3.2 or 3.3 in between.. prior to 3.5 there has been few beta versions calle 3.5 Beta etc.

As far as why it doesn't upgrade it.. it does... upgrade certain features most of the time.. but for competely new version u might have to install manually sometimes.

Hope it clarifies..!!

Don't try uninstalling IE.. or try anything weird.. best.. update it.. I did that from a untabbed version to tabbed one...

as far as Orkut and others not working with Firefox... since u are using "Ultrasurf" , it changes the default Internet settings from "Tools-> Options->Network->Settings"
make it to ultrasurf settings if u wish to use ultrasurf for as ur proxy, or else leave it "auto detect" if u dont want to use ultrasurf.

Hope it helps...!!

U never need a software to copy any type of text from any webpage... unless untill they are embedded in flash.. or some animation..!!
If possible plz mention the link to that site, can figure out...!!

1. I stated clearly that I am not able to update it due to the error msg saying that the IE 8 setup is not a valid win 32 application.

2. If I don't use Ultrasurf, I won't be able to login to PaGaLGuY.com as well. The Wi-Fi network does not allow it. So Ultrasurf is necessary.

Thanks for answering. Can you please suggest something else?

Regards

First of all, to make ultra surf run on ur Firefox go thru the following steps:

Run Ultrasurf (which must open an IE automatically)

In IE goto tools->Internet Options->Connections->LAN Settings->
there "Use proxt settings" must have been selected with an "address" and "port".

Note down the Port number, as well as address (which must be 127.0.0.1).

Now in Firefox:
goto tools->options->advanced->network->settings

now select "manual proxy configuration" and place that same address and port number.

Once done.. try connecting to the net on firefox (making sure ultrasurf is still running).

Please try and revert back....

Hello,

I wanted to share an internet connection with my flatmates, can someone let me know what is the best way to do this, I dont want to use a proxy server and put the others as clients.

A wireless router is a bit expensive, is there a way , I can use lan cables and some hardware to share the connection?

Regards

Shailesh

Lan sharing is possible just buy a switch of 8 ports or 12 ports which cost you rs 500 to 1200...

Re: Computer queries - 10-07-2009, 08:42 PM

Hello Puys,

I want to install Visual Studio 2005 on Windows Vista, I've heard that VS 2005 is not compatible with Vista.

For that shall I need to install XP too on my laptop? Cuz I work only on VS 2005 and not on VS 2008, as VS 2008 is compatible with Vista.

If I install XP over Vista, then I have to again search for all the drivers which will be quite meticulous.

Do u ppl have ever run Visual Studio 2005 on Windows Vista.

Thanks

Of course u can buy the laptop without OS n Office software's.If u have Xp bootable CD n u know the installation process, then u can install XP by your own.Xp includes some default software's and drivers.
Hope this helps.
