Oh yes, one thing I forgot to mention. Airtel settings are quite different.

I used Idea and it had a straight forward approach. All I had to do was save the settings on my mobile and use nokia pc suite to connect.

well,i have only NOP connection and not Mob office(never heard about it).But i know that net can be accessed on computer with nop only,of course with some manipulation in case of Airtel.If you can tell the same,i'll b grateful.

Yes, I cud not find the new Zune 80 gb even anywhr on the online shopping sites.

Was just concerned abt the warranty....I really dont have any idea abt it....Are you sure abt it

zune has better sound quality than ipod. even creative , iaudio players are better than ipods. but the problem is finding them . We have croma stores in mumbai where all these are available. not sure about delhi. if you manage to get players from these companies , they will be better than the ipod. and buy earphone creative ep-630. costs around Rs. 800 and totally worth it over the stock ipod earphones.

I beg to differ. Ipod sound quality is one of the best features. And it certainly tops over other players I have used.

I agree the Ipod box pack earphones really suck!

I suggest a Phillips traveling headphones. They are fold able and cost around 800.

And add to the ipod's capability of use as a hard disk. Need I say that there are many applications for the ipod?

I'd have to agree with you on this ! But sadly, consumers love ease of use more than unadulterated fidelity ! And of course, there's this huge me-too kinda feeling attached to anything that starts with an "i" these days

Create a dial-up connection that dials *99***n# (where n is the CID number-usually 1 unless you have installed multiple data profiles on your phone). Username/pwd will be blank....And of course you need to have the mobile office package activated (Rs.15/- per day in Mumbai)....

Bluetooth/cable works fine....But Windows ocassionally creates issues when using bluetooth....I've been using it for over 6 months, and have been pretty satisfied with the service !

IMO u cannot access net on computer using NOP , thats why they charge less for it . Just in case if u find out, how to configure to use NOP on computer then please share that with us also.

Well frankly IMO, Sound quality depends on the earphones... I used the stock earphones for the longest time... then i used my cousin's bose headphones.... I wouldve stolen them but for the fact they cost $130+ and he had won them... I also used the Bose earplugs which another cousin had (damn my cousins are lucky) again mind blowing quality.....
Coming to the other players.... I reserve comments on them coz all I have to say is that the ipod is gr8 dont have to bad mouth other players....
the latest iphone announcement actually pissed me off a lot... selling the 8gig for $199... i paid $299 for my ipod touch last year..... Grrrrrr.....

Anyway Apple warranty i feel is still more consumer driven than most others that i have come across... Of course not close to the levels in the US or Europe.... but good nonetheless... That for me would be enough...

FYI In Delhi, Ansal Plaza has an Apple store and there are lotsa resellers in the market these days...

I had the chance to persuse a Bose headphones and it was mind blowing. It had a knob for dolby and acoustic sound reduction.

Anyone come across the ipod portable speakers? How does it sound and how is it charged?
