when in anger i follow my nani ma's advice, close my eyes and count till 10, take a step back and look at myself, analysing the situation, it always helps when u figure out how silly it was to have raised ur BP, while all this while a logical explanation was awaiting you.

And when nothing seems to work....go out for a walk, swing on a swing...play with kids , get an orangebar

( my adopted gang ! )

naaaa.....kicking a sibling sounds much more fun and seems much more satisfying than playing around in a park.

ok guys.....lets look at it in the context that it affects us all here. we are looking at anger as a release for the disppointments that we have had to face in different ways regarding our entrance to instiis of our choice. I think one way to look at it would be to look at it as a problem in 'managing expectations'. Let me elaborate. Why does one feel angry i the context we are talking about here? Its because what one expected and what one got didn't coincide. Right? So am I saying that one shouldnt expect to do well at all or to succeed in one's attempts? No. I am saying that what we should do is look at things more realistically. We all know what we are competing against in terms of numbers. We know the chances that we have regarding each instii. So what we need to do, is to realistically evaluate our chances of success. What I mean by this is that not all of us would get in in our first attempt. Does this mean we don't try to? No. What it means is that if we don't succeed it isn't extraordinary that we didn't. So if we have that in place I think it would be easier for us to face situaions that might irk us. I am aware that there are many more layers to this....in terms of how desperate one is and what ones needs for the admission are. But I don't think I'm wrong in thinking that quite a few of us here come under the curved part of the normal curve as opposed to the extremes!

buddha said: " root cause of all miseries is expectations" but being ambitious isnt wrong, all we need to differentiate is between wht we want and wht will really make us happy
