They are also human. They also know whats is required in life.

I remember when last year I went to ICFAI hyderabad for my interview with my dad , 2 professors were smoking stading opposite us .

They were doing it because it was leisure time. Interview as well as result declaration was over.

Same way we are chating on chit-chat section & not in CAT section.

& we have not posted anything bad on the forum

So now are the clients, college profs. whatever more important than the actual users? So now every user has to think about what all those people would think about while making a post each time? There would be no users and hence no clients if this kind of moderation was effected in the early days of PG. So has the situation changed to such an extent that users have taken a backseat to all these other people?

I dontk now but i feel this way.... Instead of locking the threads by the mod qouting 'Against policy/spma/etc etc/' why not use the groan / bad post. Say if the bad post exceeds some % of the total junta, may be you all can close it. I see some threads, where in juntas are participating, some mods (wont take name) will pass sarcastic remarks... And one fine day, that thread will be closed. Why? becos it's a spammer!!

Dude, i rem sayin this to a newbie long time back, and actually the same was told to me by Monil !

While replyin to someone, please quote the person. Its lot easier to connect and the person feels respected. I appreciated the suggestion and went ahead and have been doing that since then.

Jus to add in to the point of double standards in the moderation

One would want to give this a thought from the mods perspective. We walk on a very thin line of 'what's right' and 'what's not' , decisions that reflect the opinions of 90K odd users is definately not an easy task and we are very well aware of this. The bouqets and the brickbats (well it's more of the brickbats) are part and parcel of moderating this forum. We are certainly not driven by double standards and we expect users to give us feedbacks on our decisions. This thread would have been locked immediately had there been double standards in moderation.

I have seen users quoting the definition of Chit Chat section "You don't even have to make sense." to justify the existence of a few meaningless threads now there is certainly more to the definition than stated there. At the time when the forum was a fledgling and the number of users lower than the figure today we didn't have the variety of threads as we see today.

In the realm of this it is necessary to monitor it and prevent it from turning into a yet another chat forum. Hope you'll understand the subtleness here

@ the threads being locked.

As I mentioned earlier it takes a lot of sense to understand what really doesnt make sense

Chit Chat section is usually flooded with threads just a week before CAT, junta really needs something to relax and we understand that. Bollywood Recasted thread is reopened, as far as the CAT@ NIGHT thread goes it stays locked no point in debating over this if someone still needs to talk please PM me.

Good to see u intervenin. Sachin, see i knw der has to be exceptions everywhere. But Mod bein the one, not at all acceptable. U knw i have always learnt, If u wants others to follow the rules set by u, u gotta follow them first.

On the one hand, we all want PG to be free of Spam (trust me even a spammer does nt appreciate SPAMS), we expect ppl to learn from Groans and then the Moral Policemen of the Forum does not learn from the same..

If Mahip chooses nt to follow the rules, and keeps on accumulatin Groans and still does not leave his Arrogance, I am sorry to say but he has to GO.

Do understand, no one is perfect.. But u gotta learn and move on and Him bein a MOD puts on him an extra responsibility to act in a more responsible manner. What if tom i ask a Newbie not to spam, and he then furnishes one of the so many Spams of Mahip. What do i do then?

And Mahip, if u are so much bothered abt keepin things clean, first u gotta be clean.I respect the MOD in u but nt at the cost of ur arrogance..!
