All right! Since it is being taken as a "crusade" and "war between world" types let me clarify. I made this post so that the doubts in the minds of many of the relatively new folks to PG are answered. It must be evident from the arguments going in SB, what most of the users have in mind. So the main intention was that. Specific issues concerning me? I can take it up directly. I do not need to launch crusades for that purpose
Thanks for the information that PG is just a Forum. Just in case somebody might forget, please note it down. The problem here is, some people unfortunately involve themsleves in the forum activities too much and gradually treat this place as a part of their life. So the next time if I see a "PG rocks", "I love this place", "This place has given me lots of things in life", kind of posts, may I remind the user that this is JUST A FORUM and ask him not to get too emotional and pumped up? Do we organise the AIPGM's, the City meets, the community activities and everything, because it is JUST A FORUM? Can you show me more "JUST A FORUMs" like that? I am sorry, I was mistaken about my views on PG all these years
Anyway, the main intention was not to influence someone's behaviour. It was just to clarify a few things. Today there are some 50 odd disgruntled users. The numbers are only bound to increase. And I presume it will be tough to handle after some point of time. The issues are arising only becaue people are attaching themselves too much to the Forum. So I think, it is time it should be made clear once and for all, PG is just another online Forum! If you are thinking, it's a way of your life, then I am sorry, you are mistaken.
Thanks all..

You know what, I have been reading your posts, the day I joined this place (my college days! ), and believe me you have contributed a lot, however, I feel you are just getting emotional by the phrase "Just a forum", hey, PG is a among the better places on Internet. I enjoy being here, there are so many guys who have wonderful ideas, and I really love to read each word of it - you might call it addiction
Apruv posted a valid point, in a big community you have so many people who will never share the same view...you have! Just ignore them, which is true even in real life, we ignore so many faces (I ignore my boss at times). There are so many newbie's on PG, majority of them dont go through all rules and regulation before posting on forums or shouting at Shout-Box. But those who visit this place regularly can follow a simple rule - FORGET AND FORGIVE that newbie! Moderators will do the rest.
Murty - you rock man and so does PG !

Are the Mods guilty of actually bypassing the judgement of the other regular users and trying to stomp their authority in each and every case? | Quote:

Cheers, | I think we are quite far from what murty actually started off. I think he never bothers / was ever bothered by the opinions of newbies , i know him atleast this much
The main agenda is what i have quoted from his post.
Cheers

I am sorry, I was mistaken about my views on PG all these years | LOL murty, I know you to be a chilled out guy and someone who takes things in PERSPECTIVE and in CONTEXT rather than LITERAL meaning of words .
If you really believe that this thread is the holy wailing wall where after your posting 'PG is just a forum' will suddenly have a flash from the sky and every soul on the planet will begin to think that PG is indeed just a forum henceforth, all I can do is smile .
PG is different things to different people. For some people, it is PG-Rocks-PG-Rules and being the co-composer of that song I can vouch for the meaning of that anthem more than you do . for others it is more than that or less than that and I do not make any assumptions about where you lie because I don't need to. For another set of people, it is a forum where they can ask questions and leave and that's OK. For others, it is millions of things in between those two things. There is no absolute here.
It seems you saw some posts here in black-and-white. Either PG is the most awesome community out there OR it is just a forum and there is nothing in between. I hope that is not the case .
See the posts here in perspective. People posting here come from different perspectives. Yes, PG is a great community... but it does not mean it is the center of our entire existence. From that point of view, it is just another forum we log on to. That isn't a very difficult concept to digest IMHO .
Now may peace prevail and avoid dwelling on each one of the 200 words in our posts and dissect them. Bhavanaaon ko samahjo .

Apurv
Don't worry. People who know me do know me well enough As far as your post is concerned, I have no comments. I don't want to create any more issue out of this. I have seen enough of this chit-chat till date and nothing comes out of it anyway. Lapse on my part that I actually started it in the first place Maybe I am finding it difficult to relate the forum which was 3 years ago to the forum which is now. The exponential increase in users has taken its toll on everyone I guess . Hence the kind of posts
Anyway, as it always happens, the discussion starts, reaches a point and then tangentially shoots off in some other direction and ends up nowhere One more example. I am off now as I am allergic to too much of sarcasm in one strech
Have fun!

Inasmuch as I'd love to get into one of those looong posts, I refrain
Murty, You have a point when you feel the manner that you do. And for that, I'd much rather blame the mods that have made you felt so....What they might have done (I donno the specific context that you are talking of) might be the best thing based on their modding experience, but looking by the manner that you felt, one thing I can say is they weren't inclusive in explaining the rationale behind whatever they did.....Modding is bound to rub off people the wrong way, but the challenge lies in mods taking all members along with them...Of course, this isn't possible in all cases, and there will be exceptions...And this is where everyone expects old-timers and newbies alike to look at things in the larger context and take a chill pill
Like you said, PG has indeed changed...I've been around for over 5.5 years now and can vouch for the same as well....But then it is up to each one of us to make out what the change means personally ! Interact, contribute, appreciate, forgive, and most importantly, make friends and have fun ! And to me, that sums up how I've seen these forums !
Apurv, or should I say, that was the activist-journo-Apurv
