its a matter of choice! if ppl feel happy wearing pg tshirts , then be it! if you dont want one , then thats "cool" as well.

there is some cost in running pg and we , the ones who actually benefit , dont pay a dime. so i actually dont mind pg selling tshirts or whatever to generate revenue.

btw, i havent seen anyone on the road wearing a pg tee yet!

i think its gotta do with better advertising which sells anythin under th sun..
honestly i would'nt prefer wearin any company labels to sum party (unless its a holi party) n look like a living advertisement to sum company which is nt even remotely connected to manufacturing t-shirts... n talkin bout daily wear i don think tht any1 loves a dot com name at their back unless u really wanna tell people look i m a member of this super cool site...
should'nt we be gettin these t-shirts as freebies frm such companies if atleast we don get paid fr advertisin their brand on us.

btw, even if you buy a nike tshirt in US , it would be manufactured here by apna arvind mills i guess! nike is just the brand.

besides nike has been accused of child labour in third world countries and lots of ppl have given up on nike stuff as a sign of protest.

atleast all pagals are adults id presume!

wth..u define cool as wearing clothes or the style in lacoste,nike,tantra..
dude, style cant be attained by these brands.they just make u believe that u r wearing wats in..u have to create ur own style according to ur attitude..and for gods sake..even nike is a company..then why wear their clothers..after all when ur freind sees ur NIKE shirt and says "good shirt, which company"u end up advertising for NIKE...i say u break the chain.make ur own clothes, but dont put any tags on it..then u will be doing wat u said.which in all probability u wont do..

and once u realize the value of PG,u probably will stop referring it as JUST ANOTHER DOT COM..
till then go and explore PG and enjoy your stay here:d

I hate to disagree with the above quoted.I wear NIke (doesnt matter whether its from Arvind Mills) , cos I've been doing it since my childhood and that brand defines me!! (By the way , its also a sponsor for me and my team )
And as far as DJpUlse's point is concerned , I think he needs to spend some more time at PG.com .And I am sure he would be the person who would open a thread called "PG outlet in Delhi and Bombay !! - Buy all you want !! "

Re: Is it cool to wear a dot com t-shirt??? - 26-04-2006, 12:48 AM

thanx fr the warm welcome to my 1st thread....
first of all lemme apologise to all those whose sentiments i ve hurt..i guess the big guys out here took it emotionally!! bt hold on guys
this thread was nt started to discourage anyone frm buyin a PG tshirt...
i also value the help tht all of us get here, and if we can support it by any means we shud be more than happy to do it, n no doubt its a super cool site.
but i think u missed out on th point ,it was bout an opinion over the trends tht i ve seen lately... evry1 out there is gettin into this mad rush of puttin up thier labels wherever they can. i m nt against th concept or somthin even close to it.. but wat i thought is wat i stated..
if u can share ur views bout wat u think bout ht concept then ur replies r more than welcome bt don shun on anybody jus coz he s a newbie.. ithought this is a chit chat zone, so chillax guys!!

Hey are the shirts still available??

I tried in the initial launch to buy them but issues with my card prevented the deal...

Could I come to the PG fort office and pick up the shrits?? If in stock and all?

Welcome to PG,dear newbie (djpulse)
Not too long ago each one of us was a newbie too
so the concept of shunning one does not arise
As a member of such a group
the tee is not an ad,but a
proud show of belonging?
Like a team pennant,perhaps.
That's how I would perceive it.
PG does not need to advertise and
even if this were a way it's unlikely the
members would resent that.
They're buying aren't they!
It would qualify as putting their
"label in places" if they were paying
one to wear the tee.
Regards.

A sense of humour was given
to console him for what he is.

Well the only thing that I would say is that it is a metter of your preference and that a person who is wearing such a tee obviously considers it to be cool that is why he is wearing it, aint it so?

And yah welcome to PG

Re: Is it cool to wear a dot com t-shirt??? - 27-04-2006, 12:02 AM

ok so let us discuss th other aspect of such promotions...
can anyone tell where th idea originnaly came from????
ok where did th pg gt th idea fr launching t-shirts was it on popular demand or to as a reward to al th pgites fr thier whole hearted effort to help th community???
lez hear it frm MoneyMonger in chief first.....
what say rohit?

if th circus is comng2town n u paint a sign sayin 'Circus Comin 2 th town Saturday, that's ADVERTISING.
If u pt the sign on the back of an elephant n walk it into town, tht's PROMOTION.
If th elephant walks throu th mayor's flower bed, tht's PUBLICITY.
n if you get the mayor 2 laugh bout it, tht's PR

I have a feeling that djpulse is a clone of a pretty old member

Anyway why do I wear a PG TEE?
1)I feel like giving something back to the site that has helped me in more ways than one and I am not talking only about MBA...
2)I am not financially independent to contribute to PG in a monetary way So this is a golden opportunity for me to help in a small way and lend a hand in growth of PG
3)The TEES are awesome and absolutely worth 249 bucks

Maybe continued later..................
when I am not sleepy
