Nothing much to say on this paper, as I didn't mark the answers on the question paper. So my score remains to be seen. It should be out in a day or two at IMS.

The paper was definitely lengthy. 185 Questions in 2 hrs.
Only 2 sections. One Quant/DI & the other VA/RC.

This was the toughest SimCAT in terms of Math level I have come across... Anyway my maths aint good, so almost everything looks tough

The english section too wasn't easy. But I tried not to overattempt as I always do. DAMN ! I actually tried to be accurate today and attempted the paper slowly.

The guy sitting behind me was a 99.6%ile guy, on my left was a 99.7%ile one and the one in front of him was 99.2%ile.

Damn ! So most of us spend a lot of time talking nonsense.

My approximations would be around 70 attempts on the English part & around 35 on the math part.

But then the dude sitting behind me attempted 55 in math & around 80 or so in Eng. Well well, I have his booklet no so will check his scores out

i think some one on this forum said ..screw da sim4..think this was bingo..yep..dass what i ended up doin buddy....no actually it was the other way round...
i thought Maths/DI section was insanely tough.. especially those DI graphs and tables were quite deceptive.. they looked easy i thot i cud do most of em..but as i started doin them..bas Khatam!
DAMN!! My dreams of becoming a national achiever once again.... remain dreams..at leats fer 15 days till the next sim

about score n all.. i never calculate it....i have paid do much money to these damn ims ppl..least they can do is calculate my score n tell me my rank n %ile

i am just wondering Mr. Pagal.. are we the only ones who found this simCAT tough....

Scores for Mumbai are out. I cant believe my eyes !

My net scores are 47.25 ! Damn what was that ? I have no idea.....no idea !
Bingo ! Where are you pal. I need some info on all this here. I know you scored close to 30 in the Math section itself !

I gotta scan this paper tomorrow carefully.... this was disastrous. What IIMs, the local paanwala won't hire me with such a score.

relax yaar..........tu abhi chill maar........all these have to happen once in a while.....just dont let it bother u.........as u know iims are not gona give u a call based on ur sim scores.......this is a common message to all of u.......if u get scores on the higher side...please dont get excited and if u r gettin scores on the lower side just dont worry too much coz what the iims look at performance in cat and as long as u keep ur head cool on cat day and give it a whip.......im sure ul all be there..........but now absolutely chill out and dont rack ur brains
guyz.....what ive done is ......ive analysed all the cat papers since 1990.......forget the papers till 1998..........cat started getting tough from 98.......actually in 98 it was only lengthy rc ..... rest were normal
but if u look at 99, 00, 01 which were all low scorin where in a 70 would mean easily multiple calls...........there r about 40-45 very easy questions in cat paper.....absolute sitters........if u can identify most of them right ....... u have invariably scored 35+............and so ur task is very simple.....to score another 35...........which shouldnt be a mighty big problem.....considering the standard of simcats we r facing and the kinda practice all of us put in..........believe me guyz.......if u maintain a cool head....u can easily score around 80 at cat too
so all of u just chill out................eat popcorn, freak out with ur girlfriends(i aint got none) bus yaar..........dimag kharab mat karo....

Hi Bingo,

yes, the CAT has been quite low scoring in comparo with yesteryears. But hell with a score of less than 50 !?? Interestingly, I saw the score of the guy who attempted 135Q's and had a score in 99.6%ile last time. It was 48.

I hope to see more information on this post soon ! The suspense is killing me

Screwing has become a habit for me of late and sim4 was no different. I dont remember some

of the answers I marked in sec 2. The maximum scores i expect are

And did anyone say about accuracy in Sim4? This was my worst accuracy till now.

I still dont know what went wrong. All was going well as I started with the VA and finished 50

of them in about 40 minutes.Then I went on to QA and I was unusually slow out there and in the DI

part except for a couple of graphs the rest involved lot of calc. In the Rc part i attempted 3 passages were 8 were right and 10 wrong.Seems I had the wrong choice of passages.

A terrible experience overall

Hi guys !
I just count my attempts and don't check my answers b4 i put up my analysis of a paper (except 4 sime3 when i had corrected my whole paper). So let me share my experience in Sim4 without the benefit of knowing my score.
It was utter chaos at the Chennai center. Nobody told us whether wee should restrict ourselves to S1 in the 1st hour. and nobodytold us when 2 start S2. I started off on S1 and thought i'll take it as a separately timed test with 1 hr 4 each section( i think that is what ims had intended it 2 b).

S1: My usual tactics backfired in this section. Normally i try 2 find Qs in my strong areas and solve these 1st. But Sim4 had absolutely no easy Qs. Even the easiest of the lot took me close 2 a minute or more. At the end of abt 20-25 mins, i had finished going thru the quant Qs once and hadn't made many attempts. thought that DI ought 2 b easier. But found that they had set the paper 4 mgmt grads instead of MBA aspirants.I mean, who the hell can solve prodn scheduling Qs with lead time in 5-10 mins !
Made a total of 32 attempts in this section. and i expect a score of 25. Dunno if this'll happen after seeing that all of u guys haven't done 2 well.

S2: Passages were kinda OK, but jumbled sentences were pretty tough. Attempted around 63 Qs and expect a score of around 45. High hopes, but that is what my normal accuracy should get me. Lets see if this test was really so fucked up !

Hi folks,

Joined the forum recently and this is my first post . Quite happy and relieved to know that most of u found the paper tough yesterday. My scores in the 1st three SimCATs were 80.5, 77 and 71. And yesterday, when I came back home and evaluated the paper, the score came to around 62 (the scores haven't been uploaded for Bangalore yet) and I was devastated (especially considering the fact that my scores are rapidly declining). But after seeing the posts, honestly I'm relieved .

But as most of u acknowledge, SimCAT scores can never be a true indication of someone's preps. What ultimately matters is how u perform (esp vis-a-vis others) on November 24th
