Thanks, srini | Simple. Try using DG's first law of BSchool selection
If Bschool's average salary at placements < Total Tuition, Avoid the School Completely.
best of luck and congratulations,
K

Thanks, srini | lets start with the fees part.
iim a 3-4 lakhs for two years.
isb- 12 lakhs for one year.
But in ISB, you'll get a salary of around 8 lakhs and so you would effectively be spending around 5 lakhs for two years.
but after spending one year in the company your salary will grow a lot more, so after 3 years the money point will be nullified.
Learning wise, both the places are great.
So just ask yourself. You wanna study for one year or two year?
Thats it i think... If not us, who? If not now, when?

Thanks, srini | Ok. I got admission as an overseas candidate at IIMA. So the fee difference from ISB (though not very less..) isnt astronomical. I am more worried about the kind of opportunities I could pursue after my PGP.. and also how I would fit in the class at IIMA or ISB... (I dont wnat to be a total loner at case studies)... Also, I have heard a lot about lateral placements at ISB.. Does IIMA have similar (or better) lateral placements.. and .. someone pointed out that if I want to stick to IT field after PGP,, then ISB is probably a better choice.. Could someone tell me about the scene on lateral palcements at A. Given my profile (age and experience).. I am a little bit apprehensive about joining A.Any suggestions..

I guess you have a genuine doubt. After 5 yrs of working, you may not want to spend another 2 yrs slogging at some institute. ISB and IIMA both look good, specially with ISB catching up In monetary terms, the fees for IIM is perfectly managable. However, ISB is a different ball game. Assume you get a minimum package of 10 lacs+ (more if you like it!) from ISB after 1 yr. For the fees you take a loan of 12.5 lacs (thats the max one can get). The maths would be something like this - Loan = 12.5 lacs @ 10% for 7 years [Thats a decent figure for edu. loans] EMI = 25,000 p.m. Your package = 10 lacs Net in hand (approx) = 50,000 [Post tax & Depending upon company policies] Net Remains = 25,000 p.m. Which means the first few years would be bad . Of course, if you crack a foriegn offer, then no problems. So, I guess that explains it. Go for IIMA!

d-uh.. why are u even askin.. go to IIM-A.. I know ISB is amazing and all.. but u will have a better time in the 2-yr course of the premiere institute of the country.. I think that scores over placements anyday.
