As long as it is full time work experience and you were a full time member of the faculty it should be considered. There seems to be no reason why it would not be considered. You have been working. You have been gaining exposure. The field is irrelevant.

No, my friend!!!! thats not the case with me...In my IIML interview, for work -ex when i showed my work-ex in TIME institute, they didnot accept it.They said that if u take coaching from any institute, u can easily get a fluke work-ex certificate from that institute and it will not be considered.
But, this appened only in my L interview. In all other interviews , they accepted (atleast nominally infront of me....).But , they will really consider it or not is a matter of speculation.

work ex - 29-03-2005, 12:59 PM

A college senior of mine rejected the s/w job offers that he was getting and joined a coaching instt in pune as a faculty and right now, he is in XLRI (BM).
If you go through the profile of students in MDI or IIT Delhi, you would find a lot many from various coaching instt.
But I haven't seen anyone joining IIMs.
B'coz as subhramaiyam mentioned, coaching instt can give a certificate of employment to good instt without any fuss at all.
Also, in my opinion its not gonna help as in the work ex group of aspirants, there are so many who are from different fields (specially IT field), that work ex as a faculty will only create a negative impression.
But in the end everything comes down to your preference. I have seen people who have converted IIT Delhi and may be XL (its results are out today) while they were not doing anything after college. i.e. dropper.
So if you want IIMs (symbiosis instt also dislikes people from coaching classes) then play safe and find some other job (a marketing kinda thing will also count good) and leave the faculty thing.

If not us, who? If not now, when?

I see you have put this question up on more than 1 threads. Also your question itself is incomplete. But I reckon you are asking from a MBA adcom perspective.

There are a lot of things I myself learned over the years I was a faculty with IMS and CL at Baroda. A lot of things that have helped me in my "real" job now. A lot of things I possibly could not have learned programming in MFC on VC++.

Its how well you tell your story than a piece of paper certificate that matters at the end of the day.

Along with the work experience letter , if you can show them the Pay slips , it would be a good proof of genuine work experiece. Coaching institutes may give fake work ex letters but i dont think they can afford to provide fake pay slips.

I agree ... can't see why coaching class work-ex won't be considered if all the documents are in place and you are able to justify your role/responsibility if questioned ...

By the way, I know of a faculty member at CL in Mumbai who took CAT and, if I'm not mistaken, has a final admit to SP Jain ...

All the best!
