Now since u have applied for a specific specialisation u shud be having some inclination for HR...that is the underlying assumption! Incase u convert both IMT and MDI...God willing, u will... it depends on u whether u want to take up HR as the first choice...if yes,go for MDI...there shudn't be any doubts regarding that.If any other specialization...the answer is obvious...u have no choice other than IMT (assumption that IMT and MDI-HR are ur only calls) which definitely is not the case if i am correct

if so,then minimum what percentileould one have in each section to ensure a call?

well one can only speculate on that....cos till last yr IMT conducted their own entrance exams....better wait till d calls are out...

IMT's HR course started in 2003.The first batch has just secured 100% final placement with an average salary of 4.8 L p.a.

MDI's HR course started in 2004.The first batch is yet to graduate.The expected average salary is anyone's guess.

So now you have the firgures - go ahead and make your choice

Hi!

I asked u guys to wait till the placements get over at IMT...and now tht the process it over I feel good informing tht it took less than 24 hrs to get the entire PGDBM and HR batch placed in some of the best known companies in India. This yr placements have been good and IT and banks have picked students in large numbers. The number of FMCGs recruiting frm campus also increased. IT, Telecom, Banks, FMCGs, Consumer Durables, Media, Manufacturing - were all on campus. Avg Sal for HR is over 4.8 L.

The full details of Placements - 2005 will b put up on website soon. The hols hv started. Ladooh and ainindra r leaving for iim-l's manfest 2morow. I m going off on a short-term project and wud b back early nxt week.

Hey Nitin!

IMT's cutoff this year for PGDBM will be around the 93 %ile mark(MHRM & CG will be a tad lower).
Am not sure about individual sectional cut-offs thuough you should still sail through with 85+ in all 3 sections.
So don't be dejected-start preparing for your GD/PI!
GD/PI calls are expected in the last week of Jan(I got my GD/PI call on 23 Jan last year).

I have 98 percentile in quant...but i have just touched 80 in the opther 2 sections...will i be able to squeeze in a call?

Buddy...u will in all probability get a call...start preparing for the GD/PI...there is no doubt abt it.But if only overall percentile is considered u will have to keep ur fingers crossed but actually u r one of those who have followed the CAT instructions to the fullest i.e. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO DEMONSTRATE COMPETENCY ACROSS ALL THE SECTIONS...congrats for the good scores across all the sections...if i were the inst.,u wud be definitely in.
