Poll - Which section of Cat 2004 is giving u nightmares

Hey folks,
Waiting for results is becoming painful...

So I am starting this poll

which will give us more posts to look for and kill some more time b4 the results are out.

Hope the mods will like the idea...

hey,this is a nice idea...but di cutoffs at 14?i think that needs a reality check...(di cutoff is probably one topic which can't be discussed enuf)

I agree!
But don't worry about the cutoffs. You just need to select the section, which u think is in between you and the iims...
So whichever section gets the highest votes, we can expect the cutoff to be lower in that section... (Though not necessarily

)

i think quant was the enigmatic section this year - it was by far the easiest and yet many people (people whose strength is quants) have not done that well here. di was tough - i guess everyone would agree with that and the cutoff here will be quite low. quants is one area where i really cant imagine where the cutoffs will lie.

Although this may not seem to be the most appropriate thread(or time) to be discussing cutoffs,i'm doing it anyway...

i think di cutoffs can be easily proved to be lesser with just two facts(no stats,no thumbrules)....

# 1 . i got a score of 15.33 in di last year which fetched me 95.7 percentile.

#2 . di -2004 was tougher than di - 2003.I haven't seen a single post in any forum/thread which disputes this fact.

So,what would 15.33 fetch this year? ...or what would 14 fetch?...

See,as simple as ever!..if there's one thing i'm sure of amidst all the confusion and uncertainty it's that di cutoff would be lesser than 14.

Anyway,let's see how the poll goes..

Verbal is the most feared section for me. Iam getting 18-20 there and the cut off is sure to hover around the same (if not higher).

Quant is the toughest for most of the CAT aspirants. But this year I feel quant was a piece of cake but verbal sure was tougher than last year's CAT.

i've been tryin NOT to think of Quant all these days...today jus happened to be a day wen someone else was lookin through my CAT paper n tellin how sh!t-easy QA was...

" throughout on Nov 21st...so there u go...

12.33 on the day it mattered. 14 attempts 9 in 1-markers, 5 in 2-markers...got 1 wrong in d Sec-I and 2 wrong in Sec-II...

*ah well....

n everyone else in me coll is puttin more than me in QA....me jus hopin for me overall of 59-63 will pull me through....
